I want everyones take on this. Obviously with JDB leaving the club, do you think its a personal thing? I know I know there are great young guns coming in, I completely understand, but considering we are getting rid of a 1 club player for 14+ years at the club, do you guys thinks its Haran or Shane flanagan thats behind him actually leaving? Like I know we want to re-sign our young guns but we have loads of space in our cap, and we could surely offer him a 1 year deal on 200-300k, he's clearly hurt, so why? is it personal? is that what we think the problem is? That ben Haran or Shane just doesnt like him? because there is no way we cant re-sign him for next year?
I think it blind sided JDB . I think he was given the green light for another year, all he had to do was perform well. I think he’s done that in spades and SF has a good relationship with him and he’s also been acting like a leader . I do think someone higher has stepped in . I don’t think the make room for young forwards excuse washes really . I think they could have done that and kept him in the team for another year. unfortunately, there are other forwards like Cake who we can’t move on also as contracted. So JDB was the easy one to move. But I do believe there’s an element of wanting to clean up our PR and also not wanting his name against any records for the club. It’s sad as I think he regrets it but mud sticks. Noting our new CEO said in latest interview “ JDB has been good to the club and the club has also been good to JDB”. Says it all.

100% correct if you listen to Tim Watson on the dragons Den podcast we are heading in the right direction. The interview put a lot of hope into me
In the Dragon Den Podcast, Tim Watsford highlighted that one important thing that he wants to see at the Dragons is improvement in the culture of the Club. Whether or not that means that while JDB has been good to the club and the club good to him, the club possibly doesn't see JDB fitting in with the culture they want to build for the future, maybe? and as JDB's contract ends at the end of this year, easy to just not renew it - sadly but from a business point of view, it would be necessary.

JDB did bring a lot of dramas to the club from late 2018 - 2021 and who knows, because of his actions and him still being kept at the Dragons, might have had a bearing on securing some "better" signings?!!

Well we can cross Toby Sexton coming to the St George Illawarra Dragons as he has signed a deal with the Catalan Dragons for 2 years from next year most probably to replace Luke Keary who is coming home. Keary was very critical about the Super League and was fined for doing so.

He is not the answer anyways i am glad we didn't just take the easy option & go for him.
