Also if anyone cares, it appears that Ben Rumble is gone. Appears to have lined up for the Northern Pride in QRL. Not a real loss tbh. That being said, good luck to him and all the best.
Looks like a June 30 departure, I'm happy with it because it frees up a cup spot for Lyric/Williams/Heidke..

Ben was the gun coming through jersey flegg, so many highlights of him @ fullback running the length.. but I wasnt feeling him at NSW Cup level.. he got pretty big as he aged.. as a winger its perfect, but the hands and the footy iq werent brilliant.. but good in the air and on the right side he is a nice finisher (left side not so much), he might make it, but glad someone else is taking him on... maybe a comparison with Lobb?

He was however our only young fullback coming through (assuming Sloan/Ramsey are no longer an option), the next prospect down is Burton who is still in U17's.

With Atkinson coming in '26, does LKT become the long term option at fullback? Exceptional support player and would fit the Flanagan mould for a fullback ala Ben Barba

LKT played a few games there in NSW Cup last year, he was alright but hes filling in, hes not the complete package back there.

Sharks fans seem to think Atkinsons best spot is fullback, so who knows if he ends up there.. it depends who else we can sign between now and then I reckon.... then we will figure the jigsaw pieces out in the off-season.

So, what's happend to Ramsey. If he is fit he is currently the club's best option for fullback.
Cutherson and Holmes as centers
Suli to 17
Kyle to 14
Aitkenson to 6
Reed to 7

I thought Flanagan the great promoter of youth was going to give Hamish Stewart a start at lock next year? Guess we'll block that pathway with a Tigers reject instead, love the recruitment as usual 😍

I can't see Doueihi coming to us. He means a lot to the Tigers. A Balmain junior and loves the club and with his versatility can be slotted into a number of positions. His current contract is not great so his manager is making sure that he can get him a much better deal at the Tigers. Yes, money talks and the more that he is offered elsewhere he and his manager would consider them, but why let this type of player go when he is still young at 26 and has many years ahead of him.

I was hoping that we could have landed him when he was at Souths but he ended up with the Tigers where he will stay in my opinion. They lost Galvin and Da Silva and I don't think they can afford to lose Doueihi.

That's my take on the matter.

For one I don't think any report says he is joining the Dragons to play lock, he just happened to play there on the weekend. He can cover lock, 6 and the centres and has a boot on him. Secondly, Hamish Stewart is 20 and has played 15 games, a great talent, but he is not playing 80 minutes for 26 rounds next year.

Please see below article from Chammas which says he is being considered as a ball playing lock. That will certainly block a pathway for Stewart.

Our centres next year will likely be Val and Suli as they are/were this year.

Very unlikely he'd play five eighth with Atkinson already signed.

This would be a pointless signing but typical of our club and shows we're still aiming for that very low standard of new recruit.

Douehi can play anywhere at a high standard. If he is available, recruitment wouldn’t be doing their job if they didn’t look at him. Suli hasn’t shot the lights out all year who’s to say a bit of competition for the centre position is a bad thing?

Oh rubbish, he is a mediocre player at best.

We were told we were chasing a marquee half a few weeks back and the first name we hear afterwards is Douehi, we should be aiming for much better.

Competition for spots is a great thing, however that competition can come from people like Nick T, Charlie Heidke and Hayden Buchanan, I thought they were all guns, so why do we need a journeyman to come in and compete for spots/block pathways?
