100% thats his longterm position... but Nick was overlooked for the NSW Cup position literally all year (i.e. he played ctr until 2 weeks ago), with Halangahu and RFM the first choice second rowers.. and then when they were out.... they selected anyone who could lace on boots to take the jersey.. usually MMolo.. I think even Treweek got a call up.

And in 1st grade... even with all the first grade injuries to Leilua, Sua, Egan, RFM.. Nick still didnt get the call up.. hes clearly going to be a 2nd rower, but Flanno doesnt see him in that light yet.. that could change @4pm today, but imo his lack of selection is a blind spot and cost us a couple of possible wins, I think Nick into 1st grade would have been the energy & xfactor we were missing... plus it gets Leilua onto the bench which strengthens us again.
Agree I thought Nick’s debut was very impressive and deserved another run in light of all the injuries.

Journalist Michael Chammas, speaking on Channel 9s 100% Footy, confirmed that the Dragons, who originally had discussions with Doueihi in the pre-season, are back in the mix for the utility with the potential to replace Jack de Belin next year.

The Tigers are also understood to have increased their offer.

"There is definitley a chance. The Tigers have met with Adam Doueihi, they want to keep him. The original offer was around $350,000," Chammas said.

"My understanding is they have upped that in recent days to maybe about $400,000, but the Dragons are circling.

"Adam Doueihi actually did a medical with the Dragons during the off-season. They were looking at him last season to join the club, but it never progressed.

"The Dragons are back in again. Jack de Belin is heading to the Eels next year, and I think they were pretty impressed with what they saw of him at lock forward yesterday. It gives them a ball playing lock option, but a utiliity who can kick goals, play in the halves, play in the centres.

"The Dragons are having discussions about bringing him to the club next season."

Doueihi is believed to want to play in the halves, so the chance of moving to the Dragons to play lock could also yet prove to be a far-fetched one.

Flano keeps saying some of the younger boys will get a run later in the season.
After this week there is only 6 games left, so really how much game time is Nick, LPT and Halangahu going to get.
Fafita, what happened to him ?

The only positive with him is that if he was playing lock you could push him out wide if we copped an injury instead of Cook or sua going there and he gives a kicking option
Sua has been exceptional in both games he had to move to the centres. Against Dolphins at Kogarah in 2024 and again last weekend vs Doggies

covering roles mid game and thru the season is such an art AND INTEGRAL TO RESULTS

1,3,6,7,13 for minutes off the bench as a play maker...... HELLO ADAM.........has Jack done that at the Tigers....nope !!!!!.......despite a few on this forum talking up Birdy as our best no13......which never eventuated

AND YEAH I KNOW 3 ACLS......hence the risk and value $ for Adam

Maestro that's right with sua but a middle or Cook outside doesn't work but imagine having someone like doehi being able to do it
I just like doehi as he can kick which gives us more options

Doueihi should be our 7 in 2026 and should have been our 7 in 2025. Flanno Junior needs to be 14. Doueihi is not a lock, he's a half.

Sounding like DCE has some sort of 1yr roosters deal + coaching locked in.. so therefore I guess that ship has sailed.. not sure what Sandon Smith will do, I feel like his lack of selection last week is pretty brutal from Robbo and says a lot.

Doesnt leave a lot else, but agree Clifford, Douieh.. someone with a big boot could really boost us.. esp if Ilias is off the books.. supposedly he has clauses in there.. noone has elaborated on that though.

I would lean towards swapping Ilias out and bringing Sandon in

makes sense and similar money

I read somewhere that he’s off to the cowboys?
