Played exclusively at halfback for souths, but that was a long time ago

He did not.

He was at Souths for two seasons in 2018 (did his ACL) and 2019.

Souths halfback at the time was a guy called Adam Reynolds (not Adam Douehi) Reynolds happened to play 24 and 25 matches in those two seasons.

Signing Douehi to play halfback for us is laughable and certainly not what we would have in mind for him.

We were (and still are) after a marquee halfback.. but landing one is a very difficult thing to do as many clubs are finding.

Similar to the marquee prop.. been after one since we missed AFB and RCG and Stefano and god knows who else.. even left ourselves short from our Top30 this year incase one came on the market.. but here we are still looking.

It's not easy.. lets hope we can pull a few rabbits out of a hat before 2026.. even if its not a marquee, just some names with potential... or names that can help us become a more reliable sort of mid-table team.. we need to be fielding a better roster to compete fairly in this competition.

We were and are still after marquee positions halfback and prop (Deardon and AFB). I suggest our targets should now be Katoa and Haass. These should be a priority and should be secured. If unsuccessful, we need to promote Reed to halfback and find a suitable prop.

We don't need an average first grade prop as we have some good young talent coming through and we have Klemmer, Guler, and Leilua (I think should play in the prop roation in 2026) for another year. Hopefully Sele, Lawrie, and BMM will be gone for 2026.

Doueihi should be our 7 in 2026 and should have been our 7 in 2025. Flanno Junior needs to be 14. Doueihi is not a lock, he's a half.

A bench spot should not be waisted on K. Flanno, that will be filled by the 2 number 9's.

Xavier Coates from storm would be a huge signing at fullback in 2027

Coates is not concerned about money, but much more in the club inviroment, having just bought a house & renovating it in Melbourne, he isn'tgoing anywhere.

It's funny how the 'expectations' question always gets asked, the 'responsibility of leading a historic and proud club with lots of pressure'. From my point of view, the Dragons must be one of the cruisiest places to work the last 15 years, as there's been absolutely no recognition or involvement of fans ,and no real drive to do anything but just exist. It's a total myth.

We should be a proud and historic club but we the fans have been made feel like our club is the skid mark on the competition undies for over a decade now, from both within the club and externally with the powers that be of the comp.

Who knows if Watsford is the real deal. Who knows if Flanagan is the man we need. Hope I am wrong but their efforts will continue to be thwarted by same ownership/board/disunity problems that have brought us to this lowly point.

I dont really think we needed another second rower to block the young talent coming thru, we need props halfback and a fullback winger in my opinion

the irony if we ended up swapping players out of the 2023 NSW U19 side..

There are so many things that have to go right for a young fullback to make it in the NRL, vs a physical winger like Tamale, but Chevy def had all the skills back in the day, but i havent watched him closely enough to know how his defensive stuff is coming along since then.. but hes just turned 20.. so maybe comes in on the wing.. lets hope we can secure him, been a while since we got a young gun..

And if we do get Stewart, we can thank ourselves for making Weekes look like an immortal in our previous encounter.
