Just read that Dragons have tabled an offer for West Tigers Adam Dhoui. Until yesterdays game Tigers v Dogs I would have been scratching my head but I saw a top quality half playing for the Tigers yesterday and someone we would benefit a lot from if we land him.
Bad timing for us you watch his manager isaac moses try push for more money & engage more interest from rivals would not shock me if we don’t sign him

Let's just hope we were deep into negotiations before yesterday and that flanno doesn't low ball him . We need him for his versatility, kicking and at 13 he'd give us attacking options which we need

We must be if we had tabled an offer its up to him now knowing Flanno he won’t get into a bidding war it will be our only offer

Adam Douhi is a very good player: I remember an interview where Tariq Simms noted him as something special. However 3 ACL injuries so a big risk.

It is a risk - but we must have cap space and seem to have not been able to attract players. We will need to take risks and pay overs to improve our squad

Buzz reckons Douehi is very close to signing with us
I reckon it was in the bag before yesterday, but just wondering if one of the parties involved wants to push for more cash or a longer contract off the back of it..

His injuries were (and still are) the main concern, but I will say that even if he got injured, we have other players.. he's not the sort of guy were building the club around or anything.. he would just make us far more competitive when hes fit.. and we would have a bigger kicking game.

Allen, Fegai, Holmes, Flano are all fairly versatile players playing multiple positions when required

That is a strength that the best teams have also

on our road to regenerating our best list ...... having versatile players (along the way) will help us win a couple games when injuries strike to key roles / players

To add Doueihi or a player like him (rare) would be very handy for 2026

DOUEIHI !!!!

I think we might need to offer him a position in the halves to get the deal done ... Would be a good partner for Atkinson. Much better than other current options as a 6 or 7
this is the major problem.. we were trying to sign him as a 13.. very different money to a 7.. how do you reconcile that.. and will he be cranky if hes left at 13 or Centre.. anyway lets see..

I was happy to see the tigers get that win over the dogs, Good to see what Doueihi can do, however hopefully he doesn't enjoy it too much and re signs with Tigers.
He may not be marquee but he is definitely an upgrade on what we have in the halves or just being in the team.

Tigers current offer is 400k (up from 350k) for 1 year.
Our offer is around 400k per year for 2 years.

Perspective:
A lot of doubt on Douiehi with 3 acl's, and rightly so.
However, is it a better deal totalling 800k for 2 yrs, rather than Pezet, who is basically an unknown quantity, just potential, for 900k for 1yr?

If we up the offer 2026 and lesser 2025 that might help irrespective of position Adam wants

We might be abl to do that vs the Tigers 2026 team that they have built

he has been playing some no13 of late

Centres, halves and Lock.......played well at Lock vs the Dogs.......very well

Therefore you would expect if Benji is of the same mindset at Flano..........and no one else wants him as a starting 6 or 7..........he see's apples with apples

and that our halves are weaker than say a dominant Luai at the Tigers

so he can still compete for a half role and or when injuries strike as they always do for halves

agree
despite my concerns after watching Birdy come back with great difficulty after 2 ACLs
Douiehi as come back much stronger
