Only increased the term to 2 years ..No money increase
Dragons have upped the offer TODAY by 50k to 500k and now in the box seat , compared to Tigers 350k per season ...
I think 500 is more than fair. 350 is way unders in my eyes especially if Wests ain’t budging. 2 years for 700 or 2 years for a mil living by the beach. No brainer in my eyes if I was Adam

If we struggle to sign ok players now we might as well give up when the new clubs enter the market.

So quick to get rid of de belin who wanted to be a dragon...Just showing why it was such a dumb call now.

Sign some players before we discard decent ones. You reap what you sow.
As good has he has been , he has shown signs this season that Father Time is knocking.

Maybe so, but he has still been one of our best. I have no issue losing him if we have got a replacement (I suspect Douhei) sewn up, which is my main point, and we need experience to balance the squad so full of fresh faces and exciting prospects. Going back to the McGregor days we would lose players and then have to wait forever for a replacement, and sometimes they never came e.g. Frizell and McInness just off top of my head.

We need to be realistic- we are not a club players are rushing to join. The management need to pay overs and get some positive results
I'd say thaat the main reasons plqyers are not coming to the Dragons are:
1. Many player managers do not get on with Flanagan
2. Our BOD take too long to make decisions.
3. We have not had a recruitment manager who can sell a good narrative.
4. Our incomplete training/fitness facilities are not ready and so not up to that of other clubs.

Tigers have been lowballing him his entire career... but I guess we will see how much the tigers mean to him vs getting paid.. tbh.. he has a much better shot of making it in the halves also vs the tigers.. if indeed he wants that over playing lock.. though im also not sure what Flanno/Daniel are thinking..

500k isnt enough for a halfback mind you.. I mean its more than kyle is on, but thats not why we were buying him.. however.. I mean he is 100% a halfback option for us.. atleast initially.

Some on here seem to think that it is a good idea for us to pay overs for Doueihi simply to prove that we are some kind of contender.

My thoughts are that we only pay overs for elite players. We save every extra penny for them and them only.

If Flanagan genuinely feels Doueihi is worth the $500k that is being reported, then fair enough. But he's not an elite player and no way we should be considering paying more than he's worth simply to get the deal over the line.

Every extra penny for Payne Haas when we're allowed to speak to him in November please.

Using figures is a really poor way to describe the salary cap nowadays. The cap continues to increase and a $500k in the cap is a lot different to what it was 3-4 years ago. We really should talk about the salary cap in percentages. I.E the offer to Douehi is 6% of our cap.
