We need someone with a great long kicking game because I don't see our side winning the field position battle next year, especially against top 8 sides. less running meters combined with an average long kicking game puts us under the pump big time. LKT doesn't have the long kicking game & atko looks more like a runner than a kicker but hope I'm wrong.

Go hard for someone like Savala, gun kicker & a genuine halfback but big unit so could slot into a ball playing lock too. I'd also go after Campbell, along with Mooney. Younger players with upside but can be genuine starters in a top 8 side. We should be building our roster to challenge for top 8 then top 4, right now we're competitive but it's not a top 8 roster.

Mooney would need an upgrade on his current contract, and Campbell we would need to pay all of the 2026 contract and not sure what we would pay him ongoing... not sure if we are a chance on either..

People losing their minds over a player who has literally played 1 great game this year. Looking at this (and past seasons) years stats, hardly worth getting boiled up about missing his signature, and we missed his signature mainly due to.........yep you guessed it, the commute! He was not willing to relocate away from his family.

Would he have been a decent pick-up? for sure, but hardly in 'marquee' class.

Let's give DA some time to get his feelers out there and shake a few trees. Still 3 months before the silly season of recruitment begins.

For what its worth, I was speaking with Mooneys father and he said he thinks Trey would be quite happy coming to the Dragons. However, he doesn't think we have approached his management yet.

With Kerr coming back in, no one knocking down the door for Klemmer, LPT another off season, the Couchies and Stewart, plus possibly Jett Liu and M Molo, the middle looks ok next year. Adding Mooney for Latu would be the right get.

And I’d hit the roof if we signed Jayden Campbell.

Klemmer would be nice to keep... he's been a starting prop every game since joining and has been pretty serviceable at it. Unfortunately we signed Guler for 2 years so we're stuck with him, and Blake Lawrie is also on the books for next year still
