Kyle tries hard but this is first grade rugby league need far more than that he was slightly better outside of Hunt but that's probably because Hunt did 97% of the kicking.

To me, it's time for Cook to retire or play in reserve grade.

We need to buy S Smith from the Roosters on a two year deal. Pair him with Atkinson of LKT, whowever is in form.

I'm not convincd Gutherson is quick enough for the fullback position.

Agreed. It means cook ends up doing 60 tackles as he has done for the last 3 weeks. Nullifies his running game and he is too small for defensive impact. Gives up a lot of PCM. Both need to be fresh for dummy half impact and creativity.

But Cook is probably in his last year, Liddle is staying for longer, so Liddle is our long term priority.. but I dont want to grind 80 minutes out of him in games either.. I dont think thats sustainable for an entire season, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Your assuming that the Dragons actually have a plan! time will tell, recent seasons have seen similar number of players "cleaned Out" but the replacements have either been worse e.g. Lomax gone for Sloan , Flanagan for Hunt , Klemmer for Molo or on par with the players being replaced.

What about Luke Metcalf isn’t he off contract and his mates with Dan Atkinson could the Dragons do anything there.

The Ilias signing was never going to work because as most could clearly see, he is a reserve grade level player. It has backfired because of the message it sends about the coach.
Now we face the prospect of trying to entice a great half knowing you could be punted at any point for the coach's son.

It's not going to be easy to persuade someone to come, especially in the context of another failed and regressive season.

Yeah 100%, without seeing who we fill our last 4or5 slots with, we have a bench of:

14. Liddle or Cook
15. Kerr or Toby or Guler or Tonga or Klemmer (2 of em will be starting props)
16. Ryan Couchman
17. Nick T or Halangahu or Leilua

We need another prop (but only if hes a good one), it does mean at full strength there are gonna be some very good middles in NSW Cup... but that would be a good problem to have for once.

The problem we have is that #17 spot.. NickT for me the one.. covers ctr, backline and I think he could play middle easily.. Leilua will need to learn to cover middle or hes done with NRL imo.. but id pick NickT.. young legs.. more energy, more agile.. and Halangahu I think will just play cup until we end up with injuries, but ill be fascinated to see what position he trains in over the off-season, every year I forget how much better kids get with 1 off season.
