For those that have Instagram often times Shane Flanagan is responsive to fan questions to his credit which is well known. I asked him today about NAS i have also had fellow fans send me his response on Pezet & Stewart all of which are not options for 2026 i can only go off what he replied back with wether or not we are indeed in for them i am sure we will know in due time.

Pezet - No chance sorry.
NAS - too much $$$
Chevy Stewart - No mate sorry

He did reply to a fellow supporter that we can expect 2-3 more signings.
Cant see how NAS too much $$$ ....
The Storm are paying a portion of his contract which has 2 more years to run
So he was on 800-850 ..Storm paying 300k per season
new club would be offerring around 500k per season
that would appear a bargain compared to Tino where we are supposedly prepared to offer him 1.5m per season

Even at 500k it’s too much to be paying him to be sitting on the sidelines suspended.
He’s missed the last GF’s through suspension plus his form has really been big average for the last two years.

I'd be very surprised if we signed any more forwards before November. It will then be open season for the big guns for 2027 and beyond, this will shape our roster and whether we become a successful team capable of seriously challenging or not. Next after that will be decisions on contract extensions for the juniors, length and value will dictate how much coin and how many spots are still available for 2026 signings. Once we've exhausted all options for top forwards we will then back fill for 2026. No point clogging up our salary cap and top 30 until then.

We have our new CEO and new recruitment guy in place, and plenty of cash under the cap. We're in an enviable position to bag one of the top forwards. The Rugby 360 situation is a complication, but it is for every NRL team not just us. The extra Perth team is also a distraction, but they won't have any more money than us and don't have the reasonably priced juniors gradually improving the roster like we do.

I honestly think these next 2 or 3 months will be the best opportunity we've had in a long time to land the likes of Tino or Payne. $1.5M per year for 3 years plus affordable beach lifestyle within easy reach of Sydney. Why would you wanna live anywhere else? Opportunity to lead some of the best young juniors in the game, and take this historic club back to the glory days. Create history. Boys if we sign Payne I might have to move back to the Gong myself!

I simply cannot see Payne leaving Brisbane and if he does it will not be for any other NRL side. He may be tempted to R360 with the dollars they are offering him. His manager even came out and said Payne's preference is to remain in Brisbane.

I think Tino will end up at the Storm. NAS is I assume being release for that purpose of landing Tino. He came from there and if he wants to win a comp will probably jump if they throw him a decent offer.

If Saints want to be a serious threat, Sami and Shibasaki/Jesse Arthurs should be looked at to come. With a backline of Val, Shib, Sami and CT that will be awesome. Suli and Feagai the battering rams are not going to win Saints a comp. If they can bring in Jayden Campbell to the halves with Atko that would be awesome. And finally maybe see if they can get someone like Griffin Neane from the Cows or Liam Henry who are solid first graders with potential to be Origin players in the future, that would be a great offseason for the Dragons.

Mace Scofield (Steelers Harold Matt's prop) signed with penrith. Looking into our backyard maybe because we keep taking from them. Anyone know if the club wanted to keep him?

he went alright.. I dont think we wanted to lose him, but at that age they are all just speculators... pretty sure we signed his prop partner in Mason Andrews though, has his brother Kye Andrews who always impresses as fullback/wing when he gets a chance in SG/JF.

Agree with all of this. Although I would go for Brimson to 6 as wasted in the centres. Not convinced in Campbell. But need speed and another half to compliment Atkinson.
For Tino it’s whether he wants to chase a premiership (storm) or money (bears)

I think if Saints can get some angry pills into LPT he could be the big alpha prop we are after. Kerr and Klemer can also provide some grunt in short spurts. Griffen Neane/ Liam Henry would add to that. LPT has the size and footwork to be close to Payne Haas. LPT is still young. I like what I saw of LPT and you can see he is going to get better and better each year.
