There we go….. nothing, nothing, nothing at all has changed in the old boys club…. Honestly what has Bruce Gordon done to promote
The Dragons achieving excellence…. his silence over the years has been absolutely breathtaking. What a very sorry state of affairs…. this
Club is
Going nowhere

I am hoping this is a sweetner to push him to sell his share of the club. The will name the Centre of Excellence under his name on the condition that he agrees to sell his share of the club. Or with the name goes comes more investment as part of the deal.

I can only hope.

Gordon donated to UOW for the Bruce Gordon Theatre. I'm assuming it's financial. He's probably tipped in to help finish the thing off!
If he did then they should tell us how much so we know what the hell is going on. I very much doubt it though. So much shady financial stuff over the years that the fans never hear about.

Cody announced as officially not returning in 2026. Sounds like roosters soon to be confirmed.
This club does my absolute head in. Here’s a young kid who was told he’d never play footy again, who proved everyone wrong and came back and played very well. He may not play FG, but wouldn’t you want someone like this at your club? The kid has more heart than the majority of the first grade squad. It’s hard to be a dragons supporter.

Firstly, I'm a huge Cody fan and wish he could stay with us. But I feel this was a business decision that was not based on sentiment, or the 'chance' for a feel-good redemption story. We already had that in the very day he stepped out for our KOE Cup squad this year and the way he, not only played, but carried himself throughout the year.

However, do the positives out way the negatives here! That's the decision. Take out the emotion and ask simply, could Cody complete a full year of 1st Grade, playing wing/fullback, engaging in all the rigors associated with playing at that level. That's what it means to be in the top 30, not just play a game here or there. Offering a T&T or any other type of lower-level type deal was insurance for us. Not saying that its right but its fact.

Will Cody play wing or any other position consistently for the Roosters? My guess is no. But it is more $$ and whatever Uncle Nick throws in, which would equal security for his family and given Cody will be 26 at the start of next season, the opportunity to make some cash is a priority, just not at the Dragons.

If you read between the lines, it's why we've been linked to a few backs including Fale and Sami.

Also, as someone already mentioned, the Dragons are basically all in on Burton (Ollie) who is being mooted as a superstar and our long-term fullback, but he's a few years off yet.

Anyway, good luck to Cody, I've enjoyed every minute of you being a Dragon. I hope you can secure a good and decent future for yourself and your family.

Cody had an offer he rejected that offer move on! He hasn't played NRL for 3 years it's not a huge loss considering we haven't had him available for selection.

There a lot of quality outside backs available from November 1 in which i am sure Ando has his eye on, Cody made his decision.

Exactly about time we make business decisions not emotional ones.
