The cops always had the discretion not to prosecute but they did so. That was their decision.

It was rubbish.

No one can force the cops to prosecute, that’s not how it works.

Northies could have sued the kid in civil courts

Cops get complaints about them all the time. Part of the job. Sometimes warranted, sometimes not.

Your last sentence doesn’t make any sense. You don’t get half convicted.

The kid beat the wrap, no criminal record and imho thoroughly deserved.

Thank goodness for courts to keep the planks like these cops in check.

Wasting our taxes like this, cowardly in this instance.

At the end of the day, cops are public servants.
You don’t do law too well bud. You have zero idea. Sounds like you’re the plank

Tell me what I got wrong, let’s do this.
You can start with your first paragraph
“ the cops always had the discretion not to
prosecute but they did so. That was their decision”.
There is something called a criminal offence and clearly the management of the pub wanted action taken against him. They obviously provided a statement, cctv, evidence of damage caused and loss of business. THEY chose to take the criminal route. The cops have zero discretion there and must proceed. Blame the pub, the option was there’s, police had no choice once that stand was taken by the pub

What law says that the cops must proceed?

The club doesn’t control the cops.

Kyle starting hooker , Cook to the bench and LKT to 5/8
I think you're probably right on this. Whether fans like it or not, Flanno will have to keep Kyle in the mix, -simply because he's a very good back-up goalkicker....which every team just has to have. I wouldn't be surprised if his stats are better than Val's after that man's season ended early. I thought Kyle's goalkicking success kept us in a lot the games last year.

I'm sure Flanno meant it when he said Kyle was extended as a utility player. Whatsford re- stated that in early media interviews. He would have got that from Flanno, himself.

So Hunt walked out the door. And who was next man up to steer the ship? Illias was tried but seemed to lack the ability to steer the team around the park at critical times in matches.

So does Flanno chuck in a raw-boned kid and pray he'll last 26 rounds of high-colision contact with big, fast men, - or a proven, tough150-gamer who is also a pretty capable goalkicker? (He had past success with a tradesman-like Townsend.)

I'm sure Flanno bemoans Kyle's lack of a long kicking game. But its not like he's had an embarrassment of choices. That's why I agree with you that Kyle will stay around the starting 13 as cover for the spine. Both for his goal-kicking & physical durabilty.

That's makes me believe Kyle was only signed and extended as a 'utility'.....as the club has always stated.

May not be to the liking of some fans, but the Old Man doesn't change things without his own good reason. Going to be interesting how the strongly spoken Ennis will impose his influence this year.

Watsford has done well in enticing Ennis over to the Dragons. Flanno- the heart-on-sleeve, hard nut, -teamed with Ennis,- the master thought-manipulator/salesman.

I'm looking forward to it, myself.

Unfortunately hooker was one of the positions we didnt have depth in (same as most of our spine positions really bar 5/8).. we have connor who has been solid in nsw cup...I think is just filling a gap due to nobody else pushing through yet.. but his ACL surgery would have been in october or november.. hes a long way from playing again..

So yes short of a switch of Kyle to hooker or 14 which 5weeks from season starting is a huge call.. there is no obvious play available to us..... Cook will probably just be an 80min starting hooker, or someone whos not a hooker will need to pick it up for 15mins per game.

Cook to the bench is an interesting one. Lost our 2nd choice hooker for round 1 so let's throw our 1st choice hooker on the bench.. seriously? 😳 I've seen some bad team list on here but that suggestion is mind boggling.
6. Kyle
7. Atkinson
9. Cookie
14. LKT

Great post but Cook as an 80 minute hooker makes me very nervous. He just can’t manage it physically these days.

That’s giving the other side 2 try head starts before kick off. My respectful view anyway.

So I think a willing youngster enter the fray. We did that with TDS. Very quiet to start, but settled in well, started showing some ticker and was then headhunted. Many of us preferred him over Api and his first grade experience was very limited. You can have your cake and eat it too.

I’d prefer Kyle on the utility mission on the bench.

Cook/ willing youngster/ Kyle.
