They were to quick for Flanno ........We had two good young wingers, but let them go to Canberra. They are younger and certainly cheaper than Sami.

Nah stuff himMaybe you should
Be better in 26, but beggars…Mathematically with Purdue staying put, Bula looking like staying put, Tracey staying put , and the fact that we did not offer Fuller a deal for 2027.. it seems like Drinkwater is the last cab left at the station, and noone else would offer him fullback cash like we will.
We must be pretty confident.. otherwise Fuller for 2026+2027 was a no-brainer..
With KK, Drinkwater & Sami signed (if right), add in a competent 7 and that is the nuts and bolts with the right coach to be far more competitive in 2027.
I hope your source is solid, ill believe it when I see it.Wondering if Ando was clever enough to 'play" Fuller and Drinkwater against each other for the FB Spot here for the next few years ?
Word is solid Drinkwater is locked in from 27...By throwing Fullers name "out there" may have sped up the process , then the Cows come out and announce Purdue locked up on big cash , and Fullback from next year
Pieces falling into place
Would expect an announcement poss after tomorrows clash with Manly
Definitely may have helped get the deal done if Scott was still stuffing around (and we've been talking for like 6mths).. surely once the Purdue deal was official.. there are no more excuses... I assume the Cowboys have given him permission.. zero tackle does say he has a 2027 contract.. maybe its a club option?Wondering if Ando was clever enough to 'play" Fuller and Drinkwater against each other for the FB Spot here for the next few years ?

Not hard to look against our rabbleI don’t agree. I was extremely impressed by Drinkwater last match against us. He cleared up at the back so well and tore us apart in attack. It was almost like he was auditioning for the job he was so good.
Fuller is better than any fullback at the club currently, but come on mate, 17 first grade games to his name and has just turned 29 years old. There is obviously some deficiencies in his game for him to have not played more first grade by now.Whilst Drinky would add value, I think I would have preferred that mix of unpredictability and sustained effort Fuller would have brought.

Asking Fuller to move interstate for 6mths is insane.. esp in our 0-win position anyway.... and an 18mth contract is a pretty low risk and reasonable thing to ask for..... unless we are essentially locked into Drinkwater for 2027 already...
Its a game of musical chairs and as always we are the last chair... and Scott is the last fullback standing.
if clifford keeps his current form up they will have no choice but to re-sign him, has killed it last 3 weeksJake Clifford is only signed for 2026. He doesn't even have a contract for 27.
Who's to say Purdue signing means he replaces Clifford and not Drinkwater.
I noticed a slightly perplexed expression on his face when he was playing against us last week. I’m telling myself that he was thinking ‘FFS! What have I got myself into?’I don’t agree. Well when you say it like that !Flano, Young, Ennis and the seemingly irremovable Ben Haran all need to go. There needs to be a complete clean out and reset of the football department and its operations. As it stands it is completely unprofessional, nepotistic and downright amateurish.
Young has done nothing to deserve his spot. Nothing. He has continually presided over our disgraceful defence for years, and yet stays in his position. In 2020, he takes over as interim coach and wins only TWO games out of six. Those games were against the wooden spoon Broncos (by 4 points) and a Storm team in the final round of the competition resting almost their entire first string side (by just 8 points). 2022, Young has a decent year with the Cows as their assistant, they probably should have made the GF. 2023 Young is still their assistant. They fail to make the 8 and their defence goes backwards. Their defence drops to being 9th in the league. 2024 he is miraculously back at the Dragons. We are wildly inconsistent that year, but particularly our defence is woeful. Every second game or so we get blown off the park. We are 13th in defence. The following year, we are 14th in the NRL defensively. Young was also an assistant for the NSW Blues in the 2025 origin series. A coaching team including him and Daley never gave the Blues a chance and they lose the series. So I'm confused what the club sees in him other than him being Albert's little boy?
Ennis is part-timer in charge of our attack, who seems more interested in fox league commitments. Our attack has suffered and faltered under his tenure. f**k him off. Hopeless coach.
Haran has presided over inarguably the worst period in club history. Since becoming the GM of football, the Dragons have made finals ZERO TIMES. He has been part of some inexplicable decisions, such as creating a selection committee for Mary (laughable, just sack him), extending Blake Lawrie for 3 years on big money, extending Ravalawa on big money - also for 3 years. He was part of the Norman signing, the extension of Amone, Sloan and Sullivan - all on 500k plus before they'd even played 20 games. The football program under his watch has been a joke. The junior retention and development has been abhorrent. Jason Ryles walked away from the club after agreeing to be the head coach because the club stipulated that Haran must remain, which was previously agreed would not be the case.
Blow the joint up.
