Usually means the current coaching staff are not being selected for long termSaw a bit of press conference.
Lancaster and Watford present.
Stated that it was a mutual decision to part ways with Flanno.
Ben Haran also gone which is probably the better news of the 2.
No coach in place yet will be talking to the coaching staff soon.
Last week or so has been difficult. Sounded like it was becoming very untenable and had to act quicker than they would have liked which again is good. Asked why it was before Anzac day and they more or less said same thing.
Showed some sympathy for the Flanno's but also expressed they also have the club and fans to think about and have to work to appease them. Mentioned the poor start 11 in a row.
I think Watsford and Lancaster have been good. They won't rush to get a coach, I feel they will make sure in the end they get the right guy in. I am hoping they fill in Haran's job asap (with Richo) and then get his view on who will be next coach. That can only be the reason why they will not rush to make this call. They may already have a guy lined up and hope to hear news on this asap.
Flanno really has himself to blame for all of this with his nepotism and very poor team selections. I can't see him getting another NRL gig soon. I actually hope he does get one asap so he can take his son with him as well as Val Holmes.
Surely the Flanagan dramas is a massive wake up call not to go down the family path again. Well I hope it is. Interim I can live with if a full time outside coach for 27 is announcedWho else will walk away from the club for good if young is appointed full time ?
I'll be in a better position to say if I knew who the head coach is. But as it is and with mabe Young as interim coach:What's your team for this weekend Possum?
If Young becomes the interim head coach, nothing will change. Talau is the obvious choice; however, is the Board on the Ball?Surely the Flanagan dramas is a massive wake up call not to go down the family path again. Well I hope it is. Most of what is left of the supporter baseWho else will walk away from the club for good if young is appointed full time ?

Source?Apparently disagreement at Board level bewteen St George faction and Illawarra WIN about the interim coach...St George want Young, the other side has reservations....here we go again.
There's a daily telegraph article from Michael Carayannis, training cancelled for tomorrow as well it seems.Source?
At the end of the day it's upto the CEO Watsford and his Executive Team, and ultimately his tenure will be judged on the success or failure of his pick. However you would assume the Non-Exec Dragons Board will also want to interfere, as will the Leagues Club Board.
Craig Young, who is on the Board of St George, has been pushing Dean's barrow for quite a few years. He has been at the centre of backroom deals such as this for the past 15 years. He is the cause of so much inept decision-making and faction fighting that is a real turn off when recruiting players and staff.Apparently disagreement at Board level bewteen St George faction and Illawarra WIN about the interim coach...St George want Young, the other side has reservations....here we go again.
Based on their gameday displays they don't do too much at training anywayThere's a daily telegraph article from Michael Carayannis, training cancelled for tomorrow as well it seems.
I agree, Lancaster and the Board should not be involved at all. This should be decided by the CEO under the authority delegated to him by the Board.Source?

If true, surely the CEO sees the conflict appointing Yong as interim coach could cause, meaning there's no way he could be head coach.Craig Young, who is on the Board of St George, has been pushing Dean's barrow for quite a few years. I for one, am very tired of sacrificing wins for political peace. Just do what is in the best interest of the club and you can't go wrong. If true, surely the CEO sees the conflict appointing Yong as interim coach could cause, meaning there's no way he could be head coach.
