We are currently 12th and 3 points out of the 8. We are on 13 points with 11 games remaining. By my calculation we can only afford to lose 3 more games and finish with another 8 wins and 29 points. (The same amount of points that we finished with in 2009.) If we do this for and against should not come into it as we are on an odd amount of points and sneak into at least 8th position. When I look at the draw I think it can be achieved. Cannot see the Tigers beating us twice. The Storm and Manly games are the other tough ones but we are at home for both of them. If we maintain this form and belief I reckon we can do it.

Round 16 - Canberra v Parra (Canberra seriously out of form and not as dominant at home as in previous years.)

Round 17 - Parra v Brisbane (Without their origin stars)

Round 18 - Parra v Tigers (a tough game but we are at home)

Round 19 - Penrith v Parra (We always play well against Penrith)

Round 20 - Bulldogs v Parra (Should have beaten them the first time, they are massively overrated and supposedly a club in turmoil)

Round 21 - Parra v Melbourne (Our toughest game but we are at home)

Round 22 - Souths v Parra (toss of the coin)

Round 23 – Parra v Manly (We owe them one)

Round 24 – Tigers v Parra (our second toughest game after the Storm)

Round 25 – Parra v Roosters (The Roosters are garbage this year, we should belt them)

Round 26 – Gold Coast v Parra (Their season will probably be over well before this game)

Good thread Avenger

If we play like we have been, and can tweak some areas , i tell you what, we can win most of those games , maybe a loss here and there only which wont be any dramas cause we can still make the 8 easily

I like your optimism but geez.

Roosters and Gold Coast have been no worse than us this year so how can you label those easy wins?

Penrith have already beaten us at Parra this year, why can't they beat us at their own home ground? Bulldogs may be in turmoil but that's still a 50/50 match.

Out of those remaining 11 games... On current form of both our side and our opponents I think we will only be favourites in 2 of those games. This week against Canberra and in round 25 against the Roosters. Of course we will cause an upset here and there but those 2 are the only games where at this point we should be EXPECTING to win.

I was thinking the same thing.

28 points should make the 8, which for us means 29 points (unless our for-and-against improves drastically). Even then we'd need another draw (or another 3 if you want to be anal) to finish on 28 so 29 it is.

Of the games we have remaining, only Melbourne at home and Tigers away are games we should lose. As you point out, Brisbane would trouble us too but it'll be during Origin time and you'd think we'll cope better than them, even without Hayne.

With our current form we really should be winning all the other games. If we don't then we dont deserve to be in the finals.

We are in a very similar position, as we were in 09.

Although we haven't been winning over the past 4 weeks, I do believe we are playing better then 09, during the same period.

It was at this point in the season, that we pulled a rabbit out of our asses.

Does lightning strike twice??????? I hope so.

11 Straight wins is on the cards.
Beat Raiders - build confidence
Beat Brisbane - build more confidence
Beat the Tigers and the confidence will start overflowing and its all downhill from there.

The key to the 8 is in winning the next 3 games.

Then we will be ready to cause some havoc in the semis.

We just need to slot in a powerful winger for Atkins and a powerful center for Morgan.
All the better if Poore does come back and gets some match fitness up.
Then we have Reni as well.

I think we lost our season with the loss to manly and newcastle....We needed a win in one or two of those games-And as well as we have played we only have picked up one point in the last 3 games

our poor for and against is hampering us although the one point from the draw offsets that a bit if we really want to help our season we need to put the raiders to the sword this week (sorry pete)

It could be worse I suppose. Let's just hope the boys can back up from Monday night's game with the same intensity, cut out the silly errors and we'll be in with a big chance to make the eight.

I agree Avenger, it's still possible. Though I think Wests will trouble us.

Wins:
Canberra - we need to put a side like this away
Brisbane (maybe that week only, if we can play four good games in a row)
Penrith - should be fodder
Bulldogs - should be fodder, but we need to put them away
Melbourne (maybe, if by then we have our self belief)
Souths - are pretty poor at the moment, if we've got this far this will be the key game
Roosters - another key game, we'll need to step up after probably losing the previous two games
Gold Coast - need to be hungry for the win if we're still in the race

Losses:
Manly
Tigers Round 18
Tigers Round 24

That's 8 wins, 3 losses, 29 points... if we put away sides that are worse than us, and step up against Brisbane and Melbourne.

Wow with some of these predictions anyone would think we're in the top 4 as opposed to winning one of our last 4.

Anyone who knows our team and watches them every week would be able to say confidently that if we play like this for the remainder of the season we will make the eight.

The question is: will we?

And the answer to that one may very well be no.

Prove us wrong guys.
