Can we please keep all Scott Dureau/halfback talk in here?

I am sick of scrolling through pages and pages of waffle to actually read what some of these threads are about.

Cheers.

Good idea, thought this thread would have happened much sooner.

Both our halves... well really the whole team sucked tonight. Last week took too much out of us IMO.

I expect a sermon on the mount from Karma after tonight...

As long as it happens here, so many of the people that have complained to me dont have to read it..... We may see some more traffic, and insightful discussions areound here.

dureau has completely dropped the bundle here. his worst game of the year, and up there with the worst halfback performances i've seen this year.

The days when our team is getting done and a halfback pulls us out of the sh*t are over.
Only Joey does that.
Halfbacks look good when forwards get on top - that's how it works - forget the last decade - that wasn't reality.

I didn't think Newcastle were all that bad. Archer gave Brisbane a hell of a leg up as well.

i agree. we weren't given any opportunity to play footy tonight by our drop ball, the penalties and by brisbane themselves playing very good footy in wet weather. it just wasn't our night - period.

Had a shocker tonight Scotty. But so did 15 others.

Only player to stand up tonight was Cross.

I'm not going to even bother talking in depth about his game against Brisbane.

I'll let everyone simply watch the game.

After 26 Rounds the bloke still hasn't stepped up in an away game all year - even the ones we won he spent much of it on the bench ( or not playing at all )... Forgetting the mistakes and other players not putting in, much of it was to blame on poorly run and organised attacking moves.

Everyone here talks about Mullen being better when Dureau is inside him. Well boy oh boy, I think we all saw how good Mullen makes Dureau look, because when Mullen went off the attack had N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

I don't know what the solution is to his massive inconsistency issues.

Frankly, he looked way out of his depth up against the big boys.

Phil Gould's comments on him were interesting though... ;-)

lets be realistic boys, who were/are our other options at the moment? bailey? he was terrible last night and has been ordinary since he returned from injury. sure scotty had a bit of a shocka, but as has been said, so did almost everyone else.

im with big tim too, im sick of all this talk on him.. its just going in circles and frankly hes improved lots this season and is our best option at the moment. enough said.

Before you all get on the Ben Rogers bandwagon I hear he really went off last night...

Funny last week he steered the ship around pretty well without Mullen.

Not gonna argue with your away game performances though, I had never thought about that until your brought it up last week.

I guess we'll find out week 1 of finals if we make it what he can do at Brookie or Olympic Park.

True, Dureau didn't play that well last night but neither did anyone else. If there is anyone on the team that brings nothing it's Bailey.

Dureau far to soft, unless he has a great kicking game he has nothing to offer in attack or defense. Agree about Bailey
Not a bad effort to stay so close for so long thank god for the defensive players. Could of got ugly.

Bailey is a 1 trick pony whose number everybody already has.

Dureau was woeful last night, but hey, the team was flat and useless. Everyone's fears about last week taking it out of us was right, that was the worst display we've put on since the first half versus the Dragons.

Naiqama is a guy I wish to give a serve, I've defended him all year, saying he's solid and brings more to the team than he takes away, but honestly, last night was the final straw. He can't catch, be it passes or bombs, he is a liability of the highest order.

Very hard to say anyone went well last night with the exception of Cross and Hilder. Dureau was very, very poor, he really did look lost for options, and Mullen to be honest hasn't shown much all year. The team were very very flat.

dureau, despite his craptaculer display last night, still had a good day with the long kicks. found a fair bit of space... we were just in no position to capatalise on it, because every time we got them down in their end we let them back out with a penalty.

dureau has heaps to offer.. i'm really not phased by his game last night when there were about 13 other blokes who also had shockers.
