Oh dear...

I guess it's also shown me that the views of Eels fans that post here in this forum (f**ks given or not) aren't very representative of the views of the broader majority of the Australian people out there. Faith restored...

Oh dear
So yes just like labour then 😂

Did you celebrate last night as well?

I'll have a punt at:

ALP 78-82
LNP 57-61 (including Katter)
Greens 2
Others 10
Looking at the count numbers today, this (surprisingly) was an underestimate for Labor's wins, and an overestimate for LNP (and Green) losses.

I forgot to factor in that Andrew Gee in Calare (Central West NSW) had left the Coalition to run and win as an independent...

But it just goes to show how mainstream Australia really deserted the LNP yesterday - or you could say it shows how the LNP drifted right over the past three-to-six years and deserted mainstream Australia?

Amazing that some of the conservative pundits and remaining MPs/Senators think the answer is heading even further to the right than they've been under Dutton 😂

I’d change the name of the Liberal Party and have it under the one banner as the Nationals.
They could do worse.. though I don't think the Libs would ever agree.

They are in such disarray the Libs might end up splintering... one faction which is hard right (the current rump left standing - almost holding hands with One Nation), and a new, more moderate conservative group starting from scratch to rise from the ashes?

It's the more moderate / centrist group - which doesn't exist yet, because the Libs systematically gotten rid of almost all of their moderates over the past 10 years - that is their only hope of a future, challenging and appealing to people to change their vote to something slightly to the right of Teals and Labor.

I don't know how to sum it up in words... but my faith is Australia is massively restored.

Didn't fall for divisive mini-Trump Dutton and his fake outrage on many "issues".
Didn't lurch further right to Pauline's Nation or Clive's Trumpet and their nonsense.
Didn't divert any further votes to the Greens or Teals, who rather than being a party of government just play around on the edges.

Australia and the last three years haven't been perfect... but it's clear there's only one side / party that our population overwhelmingly trusts, to keep steering the ship forward for the benefit of all of us. Labor - under Albo or any successor, is still a miles better option for the benefit of everyone, not just the wealthy Ginas and others pulling the Coalition strings.

The LNP rabble are now decimated, across the country at federal and state levels. Angus Taylor is an unintelligent risk, Sussan Ley is ineffective, Jacinta Price is a delusional hard right nutcase - their only hope to start to rebuild over the next six years might be moderate Andrew Hastie.
I expect that Dan Tehan would have a shot.
