NIGHT 8 RESULTS
Johnny Tightlips was on the hunt once again. He was after a fresh victim.
"Hi! I'm Troy McClure! You might remember me from such murder scenario's as -"
BANG.
Troy dropped to the ground.
Cliffhanger is dead. She was Troy McClure.
The mafia emerged, though. Town was not going to win, and it was now academic.
Mayor Quimby, shivering, stepped out in panic.
"We, ahh, we hand the key for the city over to you. Please don't hurt us any more, Fat Tony."
Pugzley laughed deeply. Victory was his, and his team.

Thoughts:
I did make a few foul ups. I won't name them due to embarrassment, but none turned the game thankfully.
The crucial point occurred quite early. Mafia started out with 4, and had a total of 6 if two triggers were flicked. They were. Smiley's death saw KTF recruited, and since butch died early, as a bodyguard to KTF, it cleared him as town early. KTF inherited Smiley's power, and used it not long after to kidnap town's investigator (AFS) who took no further part in the game.
Recruiting SGL saw Krusty come on board, who had a hybrid power: control two posts (which could involve a vote) and then silence them for the rest of day phase. It proved successful once, and was unfortunate not to go through again.
Other than that, town suffered from a few missed clues (or my clues weren't good enough) and perhaps were up against a more powerful mafia that was very organised. The lack of strong discussion cost them, I fear, and several players not really participating (due to life, lack of interest or some other reason) meant lynches never really got moving. This gave mafia no real challenge to defend.
Town got close to sniffing out KTF a few times, and should have uncovered him. Had he been lynched, AFS would have been released and town would have been very much in it at that point.
I'm happy to answer any questions and beg your forgiveness if I fouled something up. I added some trickier mechanics and it was sometimes a little harder to keep them all in line. My spreadsheet shitting itself also made it worse.
I also tried a few different roles; whall, BDR, KTF, SGL (when activated), Smiley's kidnap and Fat Tony's items were quite new I thought and really worked well.
My take away from this is to spread power out in town more (a few key townies got killed early, and hampered the towns chances due to cunning mafia work) to ensure town had a good chance as long as blue survived.
This is the second Simpsons mafia too, so I'm keen to give it another crack with S3 when I get back from Tonga (mid-Aug) and include some more diverse aspects of the show. Given so many people love the Simpsons, I'm keen to make it a more consistently run theme so people will keep interested in it.

* Played and excellent supporting role, made some very wise decisions and never really got voted for.

* Against the odds, made some great choices to RB and bought town time by preventing crucial actions.
Notable mentions:
BM - did hold off on killing people, but was eventually picked off. If he'd had some guidance, he would have been more useful.
BDR - made some good saves, despite being selfish

with his protection. Had BM not killed Eddie, I'm sure he would have been more generous.
AFS - made some good investigation choices early on.
