We only just lost to Holland last year and we more or less matched them.We was missing 9 or 10 Players who could easily be as good if not better than what we had.leo Berngruber for one would have torn Holland apart alot due to his Speed and stepping. He is a German who played Rugby league with BirminghamUni and Birmingham Bulldogs.Still only 27.Haydn Walker (RFL Coach)said to me he was amazed at how good Leo was and thought in his opinion he could easily slot in to any NL3 side in England possibly NL2!We also will run a domestic 9s League next year so Would put us equal with holland.Hopefully we can play and beat holland as i am sure we are good enough!

Thought you didint drink Simon!!!!!!!! :)
Long way to go mate before you could beat Holland.
Remember the game was sevens and we had five 16 year olds playing their first game of League.
Good luck in developing but lets start being realistic, its going to be while before you get a side of any decent standard.
Believe me I know.....

Participation in UK:
2002: 32,175
2003: 45,000 (No exact figure)
2004: 62,463
2005: 126,064

I dont think we are too far behind and was just fishing a little too be honest-and caught someone!:D I dont think we will beat Holland in the next 2 years but in 2008 we will be there or there abouts if I have anything to do with it.Thats why I want a Domestic League first before waltzing around Eastern Europe or elsewhere as some want us to do!I would hope after 2008 we would be down to a max of 2 German Parentage players thats the aim anyways!

It is just personal opinion, but I think the AMNRL improves 20% every year, and will continue to do so for the forseeable future. That makes it the biggest growth area for our game.
When they start adding whole new comps within the next few years the standards will boom, as will the supporter base, the number of players, the financial base, the interest of juniors etc etc etc.

But a shame they wont sell proper club merchandise like jerseys.

Would an embyonic competition along the lines of 'Rhineland Rugby League'

...involving club teams from Holland, Germany, any any new comers say from Belgium, Eastern France, Denmark...

be feasible logistically ?

Munich Rotterdam 837.49Km
Innsbruck Paris 936.71Km
Bad Reichenhall Beograd 817.16Km
Heidelberg Hoek Holland 531.57Km

I dont think its too realistic for us to expect teams to make that journey twice a month.Thats why Germany is co´ncentrating more ion Southern Germany as we have Teams allready in place and the people to run them.We just have a few Individuals in the north but not enough to form a team

Hehe, with a base around the dutch clubs, I was thinking the add-ons would be places like Hamburg(GER), Strassbourg(FRA), Brussells(BEL).

I know your efforts are in Bavaria, and obviously close to Austria.

Fewer still know the disgraceful role rugby union played in this situation.

Frig me. You mean that rugby union is to blame for the failure of 99.8% of the world to embrace rugby league? Does free will come into it at all?

You really are a moron w99 - and you clearly don't know anything about rugby league in France to boot.

Or why don't you enlighten us and show us the depths of your "knowledge".

This probaly shouldn't be post in here but there is a rugby union programme on Foxtel Sports at 6.30 pm(eastern time) friday .
Its called Total Rugby and its an IRB programme that shows all the minor rugby union nations like Sri Lanka, Peru, Brazil, Groatia, Holland, Greece etc .

It also shows the hardwork that people like Yanto does for league in minor countries and all the barriers they have to go through to run a comp and international game .
It might also help those who wants to set up comps in countries like Peru, Sri Lanka etc .

Sorry again for posting it here !

Thanks for that PW. I have read about this program on the IRB website and would be great to see the telecast tomorrow night.
