Allow it to be stripped no matter what and the game becomes a farce.

Stripping was allowed for almost 90 years and the game wasn't a "farce".

I'm all for allowing stripping regardless of how many are in the tackle. We need more contest for possession in our game to stop it from being too predictable. In my view, contest for possession is the only advantage that RU has over us.

The game today is a lot different than it was in that time period (btw 90 years? try 80 tops).

Stripping, whilst it may bring up contest for possession, IMO, would reduce the "big-hit" impact of the game, therefore reducing it's appeal somewhat. JMO, which i'm entitled to.

Stripping needs to be made legal in all tackles, the onus to be on the ball handler and once the ball is stripped the defender has no obligation to make sure it is propelled backwards.

Sure it will be cruel sometimes, but the biggest benefit will be consistency.
