The major discussion point is the Roosters.

They have scored 112 points in 9 matches. That is woeful !!!

And 20 odd of those were against my Dragons in one game. Ouch.

Biggest talking point is the Broncos. Equal LAST after 9 rounds. I can't believe there's been little public discussion about them. Browny & the Dragons have been copping it royally (but rightly so), but are actually 2 points ahead of Brisbane at the moment.

IMO the Broncs have put in effort, but not getting the results. The Dragons attitude has been poor, and so have the results.

>>> Therefore who is in the better position??

I really fear for the Broncos chances this year. Considering we are coming into Origin time, can they overcome this period without players and still keep in touch with the Top 8? They have the cattle to do it, but they have all year & look where they are now....

Manly Melbourne Canterbury and NQ will be the top four. Mark my words. In no particular order of course :)

heheh, thats pretty funny saying the dogs will be top 4.
the raiders have more of a chance to make it then the dogs.

.....hang on a sec., how can the bye be pointless when you get two points for it

:p :p :p :p

Knew this reply was an odds-on moral...was only a matter of who.

Two things stand out:

* Canterbury with a bye in hand are on 10pts, 2pts from 3rd.
* Brisbane with a bye in hand are on 8pts, 2pts out of the top eight.

These two modern day league powerhouses are copping plenty of criticism though when they have their full compliment back, I think they are going to make a second half run for the top four and have the doomsayers eat their words. Both teams have great rosters, the cream will rise to the top.

Melbourne and Manly are 6pts abreast from the competition - they are easily our two best teams, I cannot wait for Saturday night.

My team, the Gold Coast, are hanging in there and if they can win their next couple including the bye, they are on 14pts. Not bad for the first half of the season. A long way to go, a LOT of improvement needed on both sides of the ball.

How did the Dogs get to 10 and the Broncos to 8? Is that after you've added the bye? Doesn't really work like that as on the same weekened 2 other teams will have the bye and 6 other teams will get 2 points for winning a game so to just add the two points on and say here's where they are is misleading. Looking at the table Brisbane will need more than just the bye to get to within two points of the top 8.

Who cares if the Eels and Warriors should be swapped around, they're both in the eight and after monday they would've sorted each other out anyway.

Yeah, i reckon Broncs wont make the 8. At the start of the year i tipped that they would be either 8 or 7. But now they are going so bad i cant see them making the 8 at all. Regardless of a run at the end of the year.

Wont be last though, that'd be deadset amazing if they stay at the bottom of the ladder!

So Manly and the Sharks are now equal with the best defence in the nrl. Wow Sticky Ricky is doing great things for the sharks.

my prediction

Storm
Cowboys
Sharks
Knights
Tigers
Sea Eagles
Eels
Bulldogs

Cowboys
Broncos
Warriors
Dragons
Raiders
Panthers
Titans
Roosters

quite hard to predict still because you wonder if the teams at the top can maintain their form as they are not usually top 4 sides, and the lower ranked teams usually finish in the top 8 so you wonder if they will come good.
