The Three Contenders

From here on in, the 2009 competition will come down to three teams. I think the Saints will finally win their first title as a merged entity. They only have two dangers.

Manly : Forget about todays trashing. If Manly have fit players on the park, have Brett Stewart and play with intensity, they can possibly jag a win against them.

Bulldogs : What a gutsy team. Once again, they will need to have fit players and play out of their skin to beat saints. But, they can do it.

Saints can have half a dozen players out and still beat these full strength sides, due to the sides mental toughness.

The rest, they may as well book their holidays to cover for October. If Broncos and Storm had a pack, I'd give them a shot. But, their packs don't play with the same intensity as the three clubs I've mentioned.

Remember, you heard it here first!!!

That Storm pack would need to lift bigtime to stand a chance. I just don't think they have the same power in the pack.
I mean, the Tigers bashed their pack up twice this year.

Melbourne are nowhere near what they have been and thats understandable. But they are good enough to hang in and have Inglis & Slater.

They are up against it, but they have champion players & an unbelievable record against Saints.

No doubt that they have champions. To stand a chance, that pack will need to play out of their minds. I remember Souths and Newcastle beating up that pack too. The only good thing is despite the beatings they recieved in the forwards from those two games, they manage to jag wins against both sides. Saints and Dogs packs would put them away.
I don't think their young forwards are reaching the mark that the Storm are use to. I just don't see it happening at this stage.

I would also put the Storm in there and Saints are not guaranteed to be in the Grand Final (anything can happen) but they are definitely a strong chance on current form :D.

all it takes is Soward to break a leg or kimmorley to get injured and that could destroy both teams chances

Eagles are pretenders IMO.. Yep, they beat the 'Doggies at Brooky in a close one, but I still don't think they have what it takes and their flourish will come to an end soon.

Whilst the Storm arnt quite the team they were over the last few years they are still well and truely in it, on big game experience alone they could take it out
