There were times where Sam looked buggered from doing so much work. Perhaps Madge should consider giving Sam a bit of a rest during the matches. That might make Sam more effective in attack and defense. Maybe Sam to play the first 30 mins and the last 30 mins..
While I agree, you have to remember that Sam didn't have a full pre season under his belt. Imo League requires a lot more fitness for forwards than union. Therefore, Sam came back Union fit, not League fit. That hurt him throughout the season. He will be fine this year though, He will be back to his 2014 fitness and will be able to play 80 minutes.

If one goes by stats it appears that the No.9 we let go was superior in a lot of areas to the one we retained.

Eg. McInnes 4 tries to Zero for Cook.

McI. 5 linebreaks to Zero.

McI. 5 errors to 9 for Cook.[McI.played 2 more games]

McI. 34 tackle breaks to 12.
McI's all runs & metres gained was also a fair bit better on ave.; taking mins. played into consideration to be fair.

Cook had less mins. & 2 less games but considering his pace his all run ms. were not too impressive on ave. & with ZERO line-breaks.
Cook had 3 try assists to 1 but in all other areas he was beaten by McInnes.

Great points you make. Unfortunately you can't let the truth get in the way of opinion.
Also if you factor in that McInnes is gone and cook is still at Souths then it's blatantly obvious that cook is better than any other hooker in the game.

Keep them facts coming tho....

Yea good facts but I 100% prefer Cook.

The stats don't show how McInnes often gave slow/bad service from dummy half, which affected the whole momentum of the team. Keeping Cook was the right choice. Where are the links to these stats???

The NRL site.

No;it doesn't show the momentum thing--or the "supposed" slow service!

It also doesn't show how Sam's 28 errors may have drastically affected the team's momentum. His error rate was far above all else!!It was at least 2 or 3 times[& more]of other players, including his bros who had 9 each but in less games. The nearest error rate was WALKER with 19----McInnes had 5 in 19 games!!

The stats do show though, that Cook, with his sheer, lightning speed couldn't even cross the line once for a try or make one line-break.
People may have a point with McInnes but if we go by stats it is highly debatable that Cook measures up by comparison.

Well Cook would have a try if he didn't bomb that one against Newcastle lol.

I dont see how the Cook vs Mcinnes stats are relevant or helpful in any way as you are obviously forgetting we have signed the incubent NSW hooker for our first string hooker and Cook will be bench or NSW cup

"Supposed"??? Maybe it's time to get your eyes tested!

And I'm not denying Sam's mistakes hurt us. That will have to improve this season.

McInnes is gone - Let it go! This is getting as bad as the bitter characters in the U.S. who can't get over Donald Trump's glorious victory! :D

Thanks for asking alien but I'm a bit under the weather with the flu atm and I'm not into cricket so there's not much on the tele for me.

I think there may be a few guys in the sin bin.
Hello Southsport, I'm not well now.

I've got a bad stomach with abdominal pains too and nausea plus dizziness.

The heat has played a part I think. I get no air con on register at work and have kept waking up seceral times the last 11 nights.

Problem is when he's off things may crumble a bit.

It's a catch 22.

Just looking at Sam B's stats for 2016!!

Whilst he is strong in some areas he is quite poor in others.

For eg.he made 2 & 3 times as many ERRORS as most other players in the team[28 errors].

McInnes made 5 errors. So Sam made nearly 6 times as many.

Sam had ZERO try assists & only 5 line breaks in 23 games.

He had 51 missed tackles in 23 games--more than double McInnes's 23 missed in 19 games.

So his metres gained etc is probably off-set in a pretty negative way for the team overall by his poorer stats.

He really needs to tidy up his error rate ,for one, as it is damaging to the team.
Let me set this straight. McTurtle was a dud. His passes were not crisp. He hesitated too much and run in circles at times. When on the attack before he'd pick the ball up the opposition was well up on us. It doesn't take 3 seconds to pick the ball up.

Cam was good in defence but that's it.

We gave him so many chances and Richo won't tolerate below par lethargic displays. Hence he got told to go.

Sam has impact on the field though, Cam does not.

Callmack Cook is far better.

Cook has speed, energy, direction.

Cook's scoots out of dummy half and quick passing game get our forwards on the front foot.

When he was on the field at hooker and Cam wasn't we looked like scoring more tries and a faster team as our play,Akers were getting efficient service giving them more time.

Imo stats don't tell the full story.

Richo ain't silly Callmack, he knows who is up to it and who isn't. Thank God for Richo kicking the ones out who make us a team that can't challenge for the 8.

If McTurtle was our hooker this season Id be having nightmares. Let me tell you something Callmack, we wouldn't be making the finals with him at 9.

I'm glad the Merge has got him. He will stuff them up with his slow service. McGregor will realise soon enough.

Hallelujah..............

I knew you'd agree with me on this.

It's so clear to see that a one eyed man could easily see it.
