Can not beleive this.

England have booked Trafalgar square for Ashes celebrations next tuesday.

That is about the funniest thing I have ever heard. Go put some money on Australia now!!!!

Some of you people are so short-sighted.

It's called preparation. They're not suggesting England will definately win, but merely ensuring that if they do, the celebrations will be ready to go.

Surely that can be done without leaking information to the media. Very very stupid thing to do. Now australia will be even more fired up.

Maybe a drawn series is cause for celebration too ;-)

i,d say it puts more pressure on oz to win.

What are you on Ozbash???? How does that put more pressure on Australia?? It puts more pressure on England.

If I was an England player and I was told there was a celebration party planned for when we win the ashes I would feel under immense pressure.

England have thrived from being the under dogs all series and no-one expecting them to win.

As much as I am cheering for England, the situation smells of Tim Henman at Wimbledon every year. Big build up only to be let down with an almighty thud at the end!

Common England :)

The difference is England are in the box seat. Henman is never in the box seat.

I'm sure it will be a great game

the pomms have limped over the line by a couple of runs in the second test, and a couple of wickets in the 4th, but we smashed them in the first

this test we should have a full compliment so I expect the same result as in the first test

should only take about 4 days, so a bit of rain wont matter

LOL Twiz. Ever the humble Aussie.

Btw you conveniently forgot the 3rd test when Australia were at full strength.

It will come down to the coin toss.

if Australia bat first they win,

If England bat first they win/draw.

The coin toss is so important in these colse matches. I think the coin toss should dumped and the choice to bat/bowl should be alternated between matches. So Michael Vaughan should get the decision in the 1st match, Ricky ponting in the second, Michael Vaughan in the 3rd etc etc.

The home side should always get the choice in the 1st match.

I think that is a mutch better and fairer system.
