first thing to bear in mind is that he's not off contract although there is talk of release

second thing to bear in mind is that Mr Rogers is the one who "discovered" Mr Hegarty playing in FNQ. Mr Rogers then brought him over to the Western Reds where he was till they kicked up the daisies.

It's probably a halfway fair assumption to think Mr Rogers might like the idea of Mr Hegarty as a Shark.
