Different refs as the trial yet very similar penalty counts.
Last year we conceded 240 penalties in 24 games.

Not every ref is against us.

Penalties go with possession in footy.. 30% possession with 67% completion the 1st half was were we lost the game
Im not complaining about the penalties against us. It's the penalties we dont receive.

You can have 99% of the ball. You should still be penalised if youre offside, hit players high, flop into tackles etc. When you don't have it.

Thats the issue. We arent getting the penalties we should get

There was 6 penalties in Thurs nights game...You are telling only 6 times players were offside or weren't square at marker?

Well what ref calls cost us?

Didn't cost us the game - but a massive turning point in the first half...

After the first penalty we received for the kick chase being taken out, Dylan Edwards was hit again off the ball chasing the kick. He managed to tackle the Eels player in goal. The referee took the easy option, and said goal-line drop out. From that drop out, DWZ knocks on. Eels score off that set.

Two possible options for the referees thought-process:
1) The referee thought that a goal-line drop out was the greater advantage to Penrith than a tap 5 metres from the try-line. Which of course is completely incorrect.
or 2) The referee didn't agree that Dylan Edwards was run off the ball. Which is more acceptable in my opinion - although the Parra fans around me all agreed that they got lucky with that call.

Bottom line, we go from potentially 2-0 up, to being 4-0 down.

Having said that, the referees absolutely, did NOT cost us the game.

Or we get the penalty. Take the tap and drop it...

Hook, DWZ and Waqa. A lot can change in football within a year or so.
Losing Hook was the right move. Getting Wayne Bennett would have been huge.

But no... we instead get Ivan who is hellbent on rebuilding a squad that we spent 4+ seasons of mini rebuilds to build. But somehow are doing it by releasing our best players.... so the freed up space is at best going to get similar quality players to break even. But more likely going to go on overs to the wrong guys giving us an inferior roster yet again.

Looks like Blake + DWZ = Peachey. Which is an at best similar quality positiin centre, a dowbgrade on the wing and no better on the salary.

Where are all the Parra Fans? Waqa has to be 25 foot tall, faster than the wind, saves small children from clowns, could eat 85 wagon wheels in one session and Parra just scored him cause Real Madrid had no money.

Allows someone to come in who wants to play first grade for us, as well as Peachey if that happens. On the latter, its getting late in the day and he's named for the Titans.
