I saw this movie the other day - and quite frankly I was blown away.
From all reports, its not very faithful to the book, but is more closely linked to the story of Anabasis - the ancient Greek story the book was based on.
After i watched it i got on the net and found out a few bits and pieces about it - and to my shock and dismay - found out that Tony Scott is making a new version of it set in L.A. rather than New York.
Everything that made the movie good was because it was about New York.
To me the movie cannot possibly translate to LA - I dont know if anyone has ever been there, but LA is so spread out and disconnected, and the main part of The Warriors story is about getting on the train to get back home.
There is no train in LA that links the city!!
I'm not looking forward to it. While an awesome remake could be made quite easily - it would have to be set in NY.
