It's actually geniuses, or genii.

The apostrophe in "Genius's" would normally represent a possession of that particular person, as in "That was Jonathan's stillnox that you just knocked back with that Redbull", except that when stating a possession of a person whose name or title ends in "s", you actually put the apostrophe after the "s", and don't include a second "s". ie genius'

You asked for that ;-)

You mean, as in: "No, they were Travis` stillnox, not mine"?

With the likes of KK, Morts, Mateo, Hayne, Hindy, Tahu, Inu, Moi Moi, Poore, Grothe etc etc... Thurston May see The light and sign for less $$$ to win a GF... If not we'll do it without him!!! Thurston maybe like the player he is at, Origin and National level, all year round with a team like we are building

Something that us bugging me about the Stillnox chat is if reports are true that it is widespread across the 4 codes then people realize that Parra players may be using it in the same way???

Just a thought.

gotta love how this thread just goes round and round in circles, the thurston supporters will say he can play and point to his resume, the thurston detractors will say he is costs too much, is a bad influence, there are better options and will point to his track record of nrl premierships.

If JT coming here would guarantee a premiership then I guess I'd be for it. It would just be a little bittersweet.
Best comment in the whole thread. Bittersweet is right.

Yeah we might win, but at what price? And I'm not talking about money, but our values. The funny thing is that a lot of the people who cry foul about the lack of loyalty and values in the game are the same ones that demand their team win or else. (And I'm definitely not pointing a finger at anyone here, I'm just talking about league in general, and even in all other sports too).

We as Parra fans always curse when Manly or someone steal one of our players, yet now we will just drop everything for a chance to (potentially) buy a comp? We've waited too long to win the Premiership to now try and do it like some other team. We can wait as long as it takes, and win the way Parra should win - with a bunch of Parra juniors surrounded by some blokes that came as youngsters and have been here for their whole career, with a smattering of fresh faces, all playing attractive, attacking footy.

At Parra we've been proud of our history of producing juniors, or taking a kid from the country and keeping him for life. And now we want to buy arguably the best player in the world to guide us to the comp, despite the inherent dangers regarding his attitude and cost?!

Well I, for one, am not interested. I don't want to grudgingly cheer for some guy just because he came for the dollars.

I want to love my team when they win the comp. I want to feel that they represent me and my footy club. I want to cheer for our juniors, and the players that came here as kids and stayed and built a culture of loyalty, and the guy that took a pay cut to come back to the code and club that he loves and lives near, and yes, even the kid whose dad was a Dog, because he chose us for what the club represents. I want to look back on our Premiership win in 10 years time and feel proud about the way that we won, and who we won with.

How good will it be when OUR BOYS win the comp?! When Burt and Hindy and Inu and Hayne and Caylo are holding the trophy, and we are cheering knowing that we didn't become Manly, or the Roosters, but that we did it OUR WAY? HOW BLOODY GOOD WILL IT BE??

Its not cause he's a QLDer (Id take Prince in a heartbeat), its a combination of what I see & hear on and off the field.
Yeah me too. I just put the QLD bit in for a bit of fun. :D

Just because people don't want him here, doesn't make them WRONG ... :-s

And just to clarify the Hayne thing. A year ago, i was one of his biggest naysayers.
When he didn't get what he wanted from the club, he'd go to the press. He would take dives and talk sh*t on the field that he couldn't back up. He was rude to fans, girls and people who he worked with in RL circles (and yes, i know that)

THEN Hayne started to change... whether it started with the Fijian RL team in the World Cup, or just a decision from him to get hit sh*t together...
I got to say, even with my limited contact with him since then, he's a completely different guy. On the field, he's letting his football do all the talking. I've seen him carry out friendly and lengthy conversations with rambling Parramatta fans and not seen him brush a single autograph.

As has been said in the past, i'll have JT if he there is a massive change in his ways. You can change people's opionions of you, but you have to work hard at doing it. Jarryd has, and good on him!

Damned straight. Some of my favourite moments were in the early-mid-90s before Smithy took control. Give me a team that bleeds Blue & Gold and I don't care about Premierships.

That's because you have no fu*king idea and are a born loser Homo Jiz.

If we happen to compete with the dollars on offer with a number of clubs and sign him I won't be too upset depending on which players we lose to do so because we will definitely lose some players in the process.

If we don't sign him then we don't. I wake up like any other day....

The bloke has won a premiership at the Dogs at the expense of an injured Steve Price but can someone clarify for me what winning culture he brings? The Cowboys are far and away one of the teams that rivals the Eels in terms of inconsistency. His record in rep teams is certainly different but given the calibre of player around him it certainly should be.

I'd say it's the fact he is a matchwinner. The amount of times he single handedly wins games for the Cowboys is what makes him a winner in my books. He has done the same thing at rep level countless times. He may not have delivered the Cowboys a premiership, but he's never really had a strong forward pack to play behind or a decent 5'8th whom he can call upon as a backup playmaker.

I cannot see him coming to Parra at all, for the price tag he'd be commanding you'd have to let go 2, possibly 3 of our best 17. Simply is not worth it.

The reason he has to do it is because of the rubbish players around him that they have to live with because JT takes up a massive chunk of their salary cap.

is that something i want at parra? f**k no
