The Wiki Tackle

In amongst all the euphoria I don't think anyone has said anything about the Wiki tackle on Stevo.

I couldn't believe Archer missed it!

As it happened I thought he'd been clocked. Archer says nothing, then when the ruck is cleared and he sees Stevo lying prostrate on the ground only then does he notice something wrong.

And if not for having watched replays on the big screen while Stevo is being attended to he would have done nothing.

Check the replay. The guy is standing front and centre about 10 metres from where the tackle is made, with an uninterrupted view. He makes no call, doesn't blow his whistle, nothing.

How do you miss that?!

It's isn't that hard to miss something like that. It depends what his eyes were focussed on. Wiki was a bit unlucky with Stevo falling into it a bit. He'll go for a reckless tackle like Vagana. It wasn't intentional.

You are probably right but I am just highlighting the fact that it not difficult to understand that occasionally these things are missed. They got it right in the end and that's all that matters.

Fair play. I know things get missed. I just couldn't believe he'd miss it when he seemed perfectly positioned to pick it up

Am i right in saying it looked pretty similar to Vangana's. If it is it will be interesting to see how this case is handled as Vangana got a week.

Wouldnt surprise me if Wiki gets off though because there is his NZ test position at stake.

I think that would be most hypocritical of the judiciary. That would make it odds on to happen.

If anything he will get suspended because he's playing for NZ and not Australia. ;-)

It deserves 1-2 matches, I think.

I didn't think it was all that bad to be honest, Stevo was falling which will probably see it graded as careless 1 with 99pts.

Archer is a pussy , he was right in front of Gallen when he scored and still went to the V.R to check the downing.

Wiki is facing 4-6 weeks on the sideline. It was a bad tackle that certainly deserves a few weeks off, but 4-6?! I've seen much worse this year get charged for less ... *cough*MORELY!*cough* ... even ones where the victim isn't falling! The consistancy is a joke.

Correct me if im wrong but Wiki has got a bad record so probably deserves it, you cant be a constant repeat offender.

It wasn't bad. More careless then anything. Working against Wiki is his record, because I'm pretty sure he spent time on the sidelines last year.

Wiki might be a repeat offender, but compared to morley he is a priest. Even stevens asdi he didnt think it was that bad and it would be a shame if he missed the test.

As we say consistency is a joke.

Look at Bird and vella incident, one is a knee and one is an elbow - both delibrate but both players on different teams. One player gets what he deserved the other gets nothing. Cant wait to see how things shape up over the next month or so.

They made bird and example of but have failed to follow up on it.

I agree with the comissioner. It was reckless.

Stevens was standing in a tackle, and Wiki came in with a swinging arm. It wasn't as if he just stuck an arm out and collected him, he lined him up and got him flush on the jaw. Doesn't deserve 6 weeks on its own, but with his poor record then its a fair call.
