The Wit and Wisdom of Jason Taylor

I like Cherrington and I think Robbie probably needs a break but he isn't really being used correctly is he
Ennis played 80. Farah is more than capable. Farah went off and then came back on again. That's three changes again for the Hooker position.
Can anyone tell me when Mark Oneill actually started pulling the strings at the club ?
Interesting to see what happens going forward now, has O'Neill the power and position to push JT on team selections? Can they afford to play Halatau and Cherrington in the 17? They aren't the 110kg plus big boppers we need on the bench are they?

Farah is reportedly one of the fittest players in the NRL, he is more than capable of playing 80 minutes and will do so in SOO. So does the team need Cherrington to play 15 minutes per week. I have said it before, Cherrington needs NSW Cup game time, how is he expected to play NRL and longer minutes when SOO comes around? I'd bring him back in Rd 11 for the Knights game as Farah wont be available for Rd 12.

What more can be said? I was prepared to give him a chance, but after the Farah debacle, s*itty selections week in week out, wafer thin defence, inability to get these halves firing consistently, poor game plans etc... the list just goes on and on doesn't it! Why is the club persisting with him? Why cant they see what every one else can, a myth of a coach who is waaay over his head? Is any other club prepared to accept mediocrity for as long as we have? This imbo needs to be sacked immediately, and throw the checkbook a toovey, push the broom through our forward pack, try and attract some decent replacements. Very frustrating

I will tell you why they are persisting with him...

He is signed until end of 2017 and I doubt they can pay him out and have money for his replacement...

He is there at least to the end of this season...

He doesn't appear to have any idea does he.

"I think we turned it on ourselves with some decisions we would like over again," Taylor said.

I don't accept the we can't afford to pay him out. A successful club with packed grounds and merchandise make a lot more money than a coaches contract.

He has to go,we are not improving and his so called BS structures and game plans are doing nothing but cruelling a lot of these young players development.

So why is he still here then?

Don't think it's his people skills, motivational speeches, improving players on field abilities,or knowing how to pick and operate a good bench and rotation...

I'm mot saying I'm a fan of Taylor but some of you dudes need to get real, he is not playing the game on the field.

Just maybe some of the so called up and comers are not that good, miss bloody tackles and wrong decisions in attack. f**ked if I would be paying Brooks and Moses 700k per season, if rumours are true.

Swap coaches and what have you got the same roster.

It's the old saying though...

It's easier to change the coach than the players...

Seriously though, we have seen that the majority of the starting 13 have shown some pretty good skills from time to time..

The things you can coach are 80 minute consistency, discipline and motivation...

Case in point... That penalty kick that bounced off the upright and not one of our players was watching and trying to get the ball.,.

Would that happen in a Wayne Bennett coached side?

We only have 1 coach on the books now, so we should have enough coin to shaft him!

Some good points here. I wouldn't punt Taylor just yet but I also wouldn't be paying Brooks and Moses 700k per year.

If our halves were playing anywhere near the value of the ridiculous 600k they r on we would've won the last 2 matches. The ineptitude & naivety of these 2 has been instrumental in losing against parra & Cronulla.

If there's another club that will pay either one of them > the 600k they r reported to be on I will be shocked & hence they won't be going anywhere in '17 although I won't be disappointed if brooks left coz he is totally useless & way out of his depth in the NRL.

At this point I think we would be much better off if they were poached elsewhere. I think they both may turn into great players but at the moment they aren't cutting the mustard. Surely no other club will offer then their current salary.

Punt brooks to reggies and tell moses he's next if he doesn't pull his finger out. See how many clubs come in with 600k offers after that.

I wish I knew. I have a feeling that those first 2 wins bought him some time.

Who do you replace him with? Do you want the club to become Chelsea-esque and be sack happy with coaches? He isn't dropping the ball, he isn't missing the tackles, he isn't putting in poor kicks at the wrong time in games.

It's not as though we've been belted the last 3 weeks for crying out loud. Narrow defeats and we've been in the game for all 3. There was NO hate after the first 2 weeks and then the fairweather army comes about and the fickle fans get onto the momentum wagon, and then we drop a few games and suddenly the knives are out being sharpened.

Let's pay out another coach and become even more of a laughing stock. Let's miss out on the finals and narrowly avoid the spoon AGAIN while having another coach use something they haven't put together for the remainder of the season.

All this talk stops with a win against Newcastle. Fickle fans need to go support Souths or Canterbury. Be done from our team.

Taylor is a shit coach, it's not the fans fault the board hired him. He won't get sacked because then the board have to admit they made a poor decision. Saying he's a crap coach doesn't make me a fairweather fan, it makes me a realist.
Case in point - pulling Farah off near the end to put Cherrington on and then shoving Farah back on again for the last 5 minutes.

He's not missing the tackles, kicking the poor kicks or dropping the key ball is he. Some of the blame must eventually fall on the players. Since 2012 they have been absolute gash and seen Sheens & Potter turfed and now Taylor under immense pressure.
