11 losses, 5 losses....3 losses.....Brisbane are the Premiers and thats all the history books will say.
And rightly so. The rest of it is irrelevant.

Worst premiers - says a lot for the Storm. Wonder what they think.

Finals footy - it steps up when you reach this stage.

Credit and congrats to the Broncs for 2 reasons -

The coach and his knowledge/game plan/ability to prepare his team

and secondly the team itself for executing the coaches plan. Showed again in how they adapt and change during the game to eventuate and be the winner at full time.

Well Done!

history is littered with runnaway minor premiers losing.

in a decade or two people will see brisbane in the record books & probably forget who they beat.

For memory since the NRL started in 1998 only Brisbane in 2000 and Penrith in 2003 were winners for both the Minor Premiership and Grand Final.

LoL @ 'mediocrity'.

The second half of last weeks game was a brilliant and amazing comeback.

The titanic struggle against a team that had been the best all year last night was a heroic and mammoth effort.

Sure, the likes of Perry and Boyd aren't superstars.

But f*ck it, label a team with the likes of Hunt, Hodges, Locky, Webcke, Berrigan, Civoniceva and Thaiday in it mediocre if it takes your fancy.

Sure makes your team, and the rest of the competition, look like sh*t though.

Fair dinkum, I'm level headed and far from arrogant - but some of the whinging and complaining from Bronco haters is pissing me off this morning.

Who am I kidding? I've missed it - it's been six long years :)

Considering the amount of players Brisbane supply to origin and Aust and the fact over the last 3 or 4 years they have just collapsed come the back end of the season. I thought they did a great job this year and most deservedly won the title. Brisbane lost games during Origin and just after this season but were good enough to come again and win the title. Good on em I say. To win a premiership takes a lot of hard work and in some cases years of planning and to say someone in the worst premier is a bit of an oxymoron if you ask me. Unless we are talking about Bob Carr then the title Worst premier is correct.

I think Brisbane's forward pack is the best pack seen in the NRL in years.

Webcke, Civoneceva, Thorn, Thaiday, Carroll while they certainly blew the "To win a premiership you need a champion half back" theory right out of the water, I think they certainly proved that big games are won and lossed in the forwards. To suggest that they are the worst premiers of all time is just plain silly. As someone else said there would be 14 other clubs that would love to hold that holy grail high above their heads for all to see even if it meant not winning in the prettiest of circumstances!

Shane Perry has given hope to me for next year! Congratulations Brisbane Broncos, I hope the Broncos fans truly live this one up and Shane Webcke what a great loss he is going to be next year. Always seemed to rise above the bullsh*t, admired by QLD and NSW fans alike.

Its just a statistic. I was half making that point and half trying to rile people.

People were saying the same thing last year.

I think its testament to Brisbane's perseverence that they after losing 10 games during the regular season, including defeats against Souths and the baby-Tigers ;-), and a comprehensive loss to StGI in week 1, they managed to beat Melbourne, who had been the best minor premiers in years.

well, staitsitically.

It only took a year for Tigers to relinquish the ignominious distinction of being the premiers to have lost the most no. of games during the season.

Sorry to piss on the parade, but long live mediocrity! Shane Perry is a grand final winner...

Anyway, better side tonight won despite what Melbourne fans might avow to the contrary. Congrats Broncos!!!! Pretty good game to boot as well.

And he didnt look out of place last night. Could of put Lockyers jersey on him and you would not of known it was him.

Oh it's definitely true that we lost more games than any other premiership winning team, just not true that it's mediocrity.

More a testament to the fact that the salary cap really is working and making the comp more even. Regardless, the best teams will always rise to the top in the big games.

To Quote Allan Langer... "St George can't play". They have to learn to play before they can be premiers Greg.

Is it a choke by the Storm last night? Of course now Orford is gone, it can't be lumped on his shoulders.

In the end I thought the Storm were hard done by on the rub of the green, but when you look at how Brisbane looked in that last 15 minutes they were ripe for the picking and the petrol tank was flashing empty. The storm were not good enough to put them away.

We finished 3rd... Were we the worst when we won from fifth in 1993?

As others have rightly said, it is a sign of the closeness of the comp. Lots of supporters can be pretty damn proud of how their teams went this year. And they lost more games then us..
