I'm 20, turning 21 next month, however I'm quiet studious about the history of the club.
I would be fairly certain she has a decent grasp of the pre-merger clubs BUT I think she has heard 'Wests, Wests, Wests' and for some reason or another associated it with the Magpies.
A little context would be good too, this group who were doing the Wests chant, were they doing so in support of the team or were they doing it in protest of a 'Tigers' chant. Not that it should matter, but I think it could explain the young girls reaction if the latter was true.

Twatface, that we will never know and really if you buy a ticket and are at the ground you can cheer how you want too - whether it is, tigers, tigers or Wests, Wests.

I know that when my kids were younger and I took them to a game, I would only scream, "c'mon Wests or get stuck into them Wests etc etc" given my magpie background.

I have zero issue with it. It pricks the ears as I am not used to hearing it but if these uys want to gather where they used to and chant in support of the team I am good with it.

I don't think it is. A deliberate bloc of Western Suburbs fan dressed entirely in Western Suburbs gear shouting "Wests" at exactly the same time the "Tigers" chant goes up? It's in support of division.

Not to mention this idea that it was some sort of combination chant so it sounded like "Wests Tigers", what a load of shit that is. There was no choerography here, like someone thought "hey guys I know, let's show everyone how we devoted we are to the team by chanting "Wests" while everyone else chants "Tigers"! That'll show everyone who says the Magpies fans don't care about the Tigers". I personally couldn't care what they shouted but for f**k sake call it for what it is, either Wests fans rustling jimmies or Wests fans not wanting to say "Tigers" for some reason.

And if it was in true support of the team, going after the poor woman after she called them dickheads (and proving herself to be a complete and utter prophet) isn't the way to do it. Just calmly say that the intention wasn't to divide (although even Stevie Wonder could see that it was), instead of calling her everything under the sun on Facebook, then someone telling the unruly mob "oh hey she's on twitter too! I'll show you where she is" so they can give her more gobfuls (I've seen the screenshots, f**king disgraceful). How about being the bigger men in this situation (or even better, just try being MEN), and letting it slide.

Dickheads.

PS: You know what would be great? A stadium full of people in black and orange, black and white, and black white and orange all chanting "Tigers". Unity!

The reason I get angry is the lunatics that harass Grant Mayer at games and on twitter despite the amount of backwards he's bent to please these people, deliberately chant things completely different to the rest of the crowd, complain about literally everything and anything and still don't turn up to games.

This is why you shouldn't negotiate with terrorists.

I'm happy as it is, I love going to Campbelltown, ANZ and Leichhardt for games, all I want is a harmonious fanbase. And the thing holding that back is wholly and solely coming from the Magpie side of things.
