There is NO leadership

I know many of you will disagree with me, but I simply CANNOT buy into the arguement that our ill discipline is STILL from the Anderson era. There has been enough time from when Anderson left and Raper took over as Coach to have sorted out these problems. Folks, we are talking about fulltime professional footballers!! While you and I are at work, these blokes are training. I hold Raper just as much responsible as anybody else.

I believe a real problem is that we simply do not have a quality leader on the field. An Ettingshausen would NEVER EVER let situations get out of hand like they have. I cannot beleive how quick our blokes get rattled if a couple of decisions go against us. It is at THIS time we need a leader who will pull the boys in and just give the calming word. With senior players like Kimmorley, Peachey and Stevens arguing with every decision, it is hardly a stable foundation.

In my opinion, I beleive Kimmorley is the man to lead the team around the park, BUT, I do not believe he is a good Captain. The REALLY sad part for me, is that there is not a candidate to do whats needed.

ytue, true , true.

noddy is a fine player, but no leader and infact unpopular among players.

we need a skipper, the vest two options were bitch shipped off by anderson last season. one is at the tigers, the other broken hearted and unable to pull a boot on for any other nrl team.

tell me treister and graham would cop that heartless shite dished up tonight ?

beattie is our only option, sad but true.

There's an old saying that goes, "Old habits die hard". I reckon Anderson is much more to blame than what Raper is for tonight's effort.

Discipline definitely needs to be fixed, and we still have quite a few injured players to come back - Vagana, Lomu, Rieck and Merrit.

Although I'm trying to look to next week's game already - hehe.

These guys are suppossed to be professional footballers. I expect more from them. Tonights game has left me disappointed.

I couldn't pick any of them to lead the team around based on what I watched tonight.
They need to lose the egos and stop thinking they know better then the ref, they need to stop their emotions taking over, they need to learn not to panic if they are behind on the scoreboard.
They need someone with a cool head to settle the boys down and keep them focused. Just don't ask me who it should be :?

BK is a CA "hangover" ;-)

The team we are playing with is what is left after CA's "broom" went through the place and he replaced them with what we have now.

Rapes has only been thrust into the job very late last year and he is working with CA's Hand picked players, that were going to win us a comp this year, well, that's what CA promised!!

Do you dare suggest that CA would be doing better with them?!

Very dumb post mate...

Raper has been in charge long enough to have made his mark on the team, and by god sacking CA late in the piece has paid off in spades so far, hasn't it?

We lost to the Tigers and now we've lost to Souths.

Well he couldn't do any fu<king worse could he? we just lost 36 - 12 to Souths.

CA could have lost us $1,000,000 a year in sponsorship if he stayed, for starters.

This will be a rebuild period. Get use to it. Like I said, we are stuck with CA's hand picked team. A team he would be doing worse with and also dragging us through the press every second week, as he did for 2 years. 2002-3 Cronulla were the Dogs. CA had us permanently in the papers for all the wrong reasons!!

Stuey has had 3 months with this team. He was training them the way CA wanted, untill he was booted. He now has to re-program them. give him time. He has alread adressed the missed tackles we had last year...

Discipline will be the next thing on his books, I'm sure, and if you remember correctly, we were very ill disciplined last year... It peaked in the Parra game, where CA thought it was funny... Ha Ha f**king HA!! Real funny, isnt it!!

Hello..what planet are you on?.....Anderson hasn't been near the place since november. If Raper is trying to make them play in a disciplined way and they won't follow his instructions then he has to drop them. We nearly lost last week thru lack of discipline and we certainly copped a hiding this week because of it (and no heart).

On paper the sharks have a competite team yet no discipline and no ticker - there is something severely wrong in the club for players to capitulate like that. What is it?

Leadership IS a problem - all because Anderson gave Peachey the push which had has a profound impact on him. Treister is the only answer, and we should sign him at whatever cost.

and the board will cost us at least that much in legal fees and settlements to get rid of him over the next few years.

I certainly look forward to being in the papers for having our players take cheap shots now, I bet the sponsors love that too.

Get your hand off it, Raper has had them for longer than 3 months and is dealing with professional footballers, is he only capable of addressing 1 point at a time?, if so in another 3 months our team might be fit, by the time they are disciplined the season will be over.

I don't recall players taking the sort of cheap shots Bird did under CA and why is it that Raper has done nothing to address the disciple problems yet?

I wonder if there is another failed UK league coach available to hire, this one seems broken.

I bet they don't. But not as much as they hated Andersons culture & facade.

very good, you got something right. Stus had them for 17 weeks.

That because you know f**k all. The sharks had the most players at the judiciary last year & I think I am correct in the most amount of suspensions, players sent off & sin binned.

4 games?? 17 weeks, what a tool!!!!

Its ALL Anderson's fault, no hang on it is all Langys fault. Please lets live in the present, Raper has been assessing things longer than 3 months, he knew he had Andersons job since he came back. I dont blame Raper entirely, i just think he is going to have to make some hard decisions and start laying down the law
