Apparently Granny Doubtfire is wanting to play on.Couldn't quite displace Mrs Doubtfire as starting half but has made the bench for Qld at least

I'm going to give you an unmentioned stat.I was underwhelmed, by her and the other sharks girls.
Maybe the prop was ok
Reminded me of Kleenex. Deer in the headlights.I was underwhelmed, by her and the other sharks girls.

Ironically, Penitani looked better at 6 for the blues than Verran ever has. Verran is an ideal benchie for the Sharks this year IMO. Jada T will be back at 1 so I don't see a spot in the 13 for Verran TBH. She ain't beating Quincy out for starting 9 either. The Sharks girls have also snared another gun half - Chantay Kiria-Ratu from the Titans who boasts an 8/3 winning record from her 11 games.I'm going to give you an unmentioned stat.
When the starting hooker, Keeley Davis was on NSW concided all their points and didn't score one. When her replacement was on, Emma Verran (Tonegato) was in NSW scored all their points and did not coincide one.
Verrans passing from Dummy half were from the ground and crisp to the chest, Davis always took one or two steps and looped her passes.
NSW were way better when Verran was on. Even though it was not her normal position she still out shone Davis, even in defense. Qld's first try came through Davis.
Davis was 3rd choice as Australian hooker this past year for a reason, her Roosters coach gave her leeway.
Verran was really good. Penitani was always in attack mode and Ellie Johnston was a beast! ( am I allowed to say that?)
I didn't much notice Halloway, but in years to come i'm sure she'll make her mark in that arena.
So, are you saying Kiria-Ratu at 7, Hannaway at 6?Ironically, Penitani looked better at 6 for the blues than Verran ever has. Verran is an ideal benchie for the Sharks this year IMO. I don't think that would ever be the case, especially since now Dodd has re-signed for a further two years. She ain't beating Quincy out for starting 9 either.
Not yet. The thing is that The Titans have been very good as newcomers and have Lauren Brown as their first choice half. When she was injured in 2024 her place was taken by Lailani Montgomery. Kiria-Ratu did all her stuff in 2023 when Brown was mostly at hooker. So, are you saying Kiria-Ratu at 7, Hannaway at 6?
What do you think of Verran on the wing? It seemed to me that our wingers were not great last year. It'll be interesting to see if there is any improvement (or upgrade) this year.
