Were the Gunner's actually commercial rock or did they turn the style they played into mainstream rock?

I ask because I don't know to many other bands who came before the Gunners that have a similiar sound.

This is exciting news, i was watching their best of DVD last night to all hours.

The video clip DVD or Live in Tokyo Parts I and II?

The clip DVD is a must have for anyone interested in music videos if only for November Rain and Estranged. Slash rising out the ocean still ranks as the most awesome thing I've seen in a film clip.

I watched the AOL stream in its entirity last night. The sound mix was horrific. I'm not sure if it was just through the stream though because Axl and the band didn't react to it, and seemed to be enjoying themselves. During SCOM Robin's solos were drowned out compeletely and at times you couldn't hear a thing from Axl's vocals, yet the bongo drums were the loudest instrument:sarcasm:

The crowd seemed to be enjoying it and so did Axl, which makes me think it was just the stream mix that sounded bad, and not the live sound.

Either way it was fixed by the second half of the show. November Rain at Rio will have to go down as one of the classic GNR performances, Axl was really on form all night, but peak for NR, it was superb.

Another BIG highlight of the night was Ron Thal's solo. After some fine shredding stuff he switched instantly to a more bluesy style, and merged into Don't Cry. The crowd loved it and sang the words so loud. Makes you wonder why they don't play the UYI classics anymore.

If it were not for the mixing difficulties it would have been an awesome show, this band can put on a show.
