To be honest, Nicho is getting hammered here, but he did more than Trindall this game and last game. Trindall has been a complete passenger.
that being said, Nicho is on double the coin…..

Yeah I know it’s been done before.
playing Petty post game to a hard / soft win or now maybe a loss, is destroying my love for the man and his music. Just stop it and play some new age country Luke Coombes or something that they are all on the bandwagon with

That is now 5 consecutive halves of shithouse footy.

First half against Souths was fast, aggressive and purposeful. Since then it has been dire.

Another thing I'm off is all of the lessons we are supposedly learning according to the coach. It's the same players and same coach and they play like strangers. They should be the most cohesive unit in the comp but can't create shit. Individual brilliance from Hiroti and Nikora created points. Spine players did precisely zero (apart from looking sad).

Raimen has had two stinkers back to back after 18 months of being amazing. What is doing?!

Akko and Cam playing 13. Stop it now please. We had AFB, Tuku and Hazo on at one point and that was the best we looked.

The dipshits who want Stoney over Katoa... I'm not giving up on Sam yet but f**k we miss Katoa.

Toby looked completely gassed right away but looked fit last week in the first stint?

AFB is so good. The other forwards don't know how to go with him.

Hudson Young destroying us every f**king time. EVERY f**kING TIME.

Giving a home game to f**king Perth. Seriously. Vegas a month ago then Townsville now this. Then Newie, Sydney and magic round. Derp.

Smart club hey. In many ways this is good. We are sitting where I realistically think this team is. Edge/bottom of 8, no point being top 4 if you never show up when it matters. Better to sit where we are work some shit out and maybe just maybe make a run later. Up to the team to fix it. Enjoy your weekend boys

Stonestreet is on the Stewart Mills trajectory. I get he is only young and he may come good, but first grade isn’t for him yet.
It’s pretty much whilst he’s been held back - if it wasn’t for the fisher king injury, it wouldn’t be part of the conversation.
Bright side is, a few imposters who may get a rest for others behind them. It’s on the coach though, doesn’t like to rock the church group boat.

I think Stoney is a first grader down the line. He needs to buy into the Iro development mode. For context Iro at the same age played 1 game. Spent a year in NSW cup at 23 before getting a crack at age 24. Sam is 22(23 in July) and in a lower/rebuilding team you can cop the learning curve. In a team trying to be top 4 and go for a title the mistakes and errors stand out like dogs balls. He is so targeted and I always go back to SJ/DWZ pulling his pants down this time year and costing us the game. Iro for us is now so important and people were screaming for him to play when Fitz was holding him back because he wanted a few areas in his game fixed.

The anti Katoa agenda is and was ridiculous. He is so solid for us. Ronnie I thought was one of our better players last night.

The halves yeah they weren't great but I feel it is lazy to hammer them when we have a number of other issues. I will say though our kicking game is dog shit after they put on their best effort vs Souths. Jesse got put into space at least twice and didn't execute like he normally does. How does Raimen get out played by f**king Kris?! The winning try being scored by the centre on the other side while our guys stood there on the other side hands on hips. Toby giving us 34m off the bench and his putrid effort on Young for that try when he just got on the f**king field. Our bench rotation is so confusing when it should be one of if not the best in the league.

We shouldn't have been as close to winning as we were. Nikora covered up a lot of issues with those two tries. We got a ton of calls from the ref. The sin bin. If we won a lot of those things get glossed over.

I can't believe we are off to Perth next week. f**king stupid. In saying that get Wilton and Sifa back and I will be confident. Get through this 6 week block with 3, ideally 4 wins and we will be fine. Down hill running after that.

I think we need a pack reshuffle which I appreciate is difficult with so many injuries.

Oregon has been average this year. No one is expecting him to be AFB but if you're only going to be running for 50-80M a game then you need to be making 38 tackles and missing 1. Ideally you'd be hurting people in defence. Neither of those things is happening.

I love Wilton but I don't think we're getting enough out of him. I think I'd move Sifa to left backrow and move Wilton to the bench. Wilton probably runs better lines but Sifa can run over the top of people, terrorise halves in defence and will attract defenders giving Iro and Ronnie more space. I think it also provides more variety between backrowers.

Wilton can interchange with Cam and also give Sifa a spell.

I think I'd start with AFB and Tom with OK moving back to the bench.

A bench of Wilton, Toby, OK and Atkinson/THT/BHU/JC provides better balance IMO.

Seems like the backrowers are basically there to run lines/decoys, tackle and that's it. They need to be utilised in different ways and become more involved.

I mostly agree with that, thought I think Teig's defense has been tremendous on the edge.
I'd be reluctant to lose that.

For mine, there's not enough Sifa and far too much McIneffective.
I'd be switching them, and the number of minutes each gets.

Not to mention, pissing Atkinson off and bringing Hohepa up.

Sadly...

I’m not at pessimistic as a lot of you lot seem, it’s early in the season, team seems to be trying to play boring footy on purpose, it’s somewhat ok.. if we jag that win last night would be seen as gritty and tough, long long year no way we stay this shit all year.

I thought f**king Atkinson of all people did a good job replacing McInnes last night. Think we need more out of our 13 it’s one of many problems but we need the link man, Atkinson/hohepa give us that McInnes can be bench captain or something

I get the pain and I’m as pessimistic as they come, but it ain’t surprising considering the outs we had. Someone said I was dead wrong I that the fisherman was one of our best in that prelim last year. Now he can’t get back soon enough.
Regardless, I think most have the 2025 Pass GO, collect 200 bucks and sharks walk into a GF and are dumbfounded at where we are at.
Watching the replay whilst working in fast forward, it’s plain to see it ain’t working. That second half of the Souths game was a glimpse into that - no killer instinct. Teams of the past would have just gone the throat, but this lot are just happy to hang and ride and die together or some bollocks.
Changes needed but as per old mate Moylan episode, it might take a while, time they may not have
