Things to be thankful for...

Are you glad Macca has decided not to hold talent back anymore by going to the ESL?

Macca is leaving, thank christ

1 useless player with no position to play about 12 to go. Have we released anyone else yet? Im kind of more excited about who else will be leaving during the 04 off season than I ever was watching the 04 season.

Macca leaving will be great for the club and the forums. Ill explain

CLUB
* No more naming him in the team for the sake of it
* Carney
* May become best ESL player in history, seems the game is so slow over there
* May learn to tackle while overseas, granted they are all aussie pensioners.
* Carney

FORUMS
* No more gay hair threads
* No more Poso Macca threads
* DB and Macca seedy sex romps in Wakefield or wherever

Onto the man of the hour... some hours ago, Boogs.

Well I doubt he would of played any NRL this year but sucks to see our club dragged through shit even if he is guilty or not.

This thread can also reflect on some awesome boogs moments. Please only leave poso things cause I plan on sending this to "Jason Brow" at Raiders HQ.

My best memory of Boogs was when he played his first game. I had the shits some 27 year old was making his debut. Another Porter I though, Oh boy was I wrong Boogs went on to own a centre spot and in his debut was targeted by a determined Penrith outfit. 38 tackles and 80 minutes later, Boogs changed my mind and I looked forward seeing him play week after week. If he entered a contest for heart I think he would come second only to everyones most loved player Alan Tongue.

P.S If the club wishes to let people go to England and the ESL the following players can go with my blessing.

Shif
Woolford
T Smith

and a few more.

I'm with Quinn. Far more dissapointed Boogas is leaving than Macca  . Actually, I couldn't care less on either and think we're better off without them. This doesn't mean Macca isn't a champ though!!!! Just couldn't find a place.

Jason Bulgarelli, so many great moments, where do i begin? Yes, i remember that debut against Penrith. Every try that Penrith scored involved Jason Bulgarelli. It was then I realised what a great player he was going to be. He went on to take Phil Graham's spot in the backline in both PL and first grade, at the same time cursing him to be a winger forever after. Then he caused us to miss out on the 2003 preliminary finals with a classic knock-on in the final minutes of the semi-final v Warriors. 2004, and "Boogers" was once again involved in many tries, some even to the Raiders. Jason Bulgarelli, you will be sorely missed...

Boyo this poll will go down to the wire. We need more poso boogs memories cause im going to print it and send it to... well i lie but anyways

I remember an awesome boogs try. Croker put through a kick deep in our own half and boogs chased through even tho he didnt have to anyways he toes it on ahead and out sprints some manly guy who was pretty quick himself. Boogs on purpose kicked it so it bounced up just as he ran onto it and scored the try that won us the match. It was a really great moment.

Then Croker missed the shot at goal.

We need more memories people.

The inconsistent utility fan club is up 8-7. Not cool

Allow me to explain. Everyone seems to love Carney. They want him playing halfback and were calling for it late this season. So with Withers coming to the club who would have been the PL regular?

Carney. Easy to answer that. So 8 people have wrongfully thrown away their vote and I wanna know who you are. Or did the Macca's hair fan club think Withers would play PL? Or that we would have 2 small men doing the same job on the bench?

Withers owns Macca and he got scared and went 10,000km away cause he knew that he would either hold back Carney or play PL himself for the year.

Bloody Macca fans, I bet you think Shif runs forwards and doesnt submit in tackles either

Remember that big game when Bulgarelli put a chip in, perfectly placed and then McLinden knocked it on. We could of won the premiership and I could of married Claire Forlani. God bless Jason Bulgarelli and hang your head in shame Mr McLinden you've ruined my life. If you come back to Canberra I will run you down with my tricycle and then we'll see who's boss. If McLinden catches the grubber Bulgarelli is a legend and retires in green, instead he is retired in green. Something doesn't add up McLinden sent him the drugs so Boogers has to go to London to make him look good, I want to kill McHack.

Quinny get your hand off it champ.... the try Boogs scored off the Croker kick was against Manly and we were ahead 47-16 at the time, so it didnt win us the game!

Yeah plenty to be thankful for for Boogs.... he makes us appreciate how good the crop of kids like Smithy, Chalk, hell even Robbo are... 8)

To be fair to him I think he could have been a decent backrower in time, but the biggest problem was always going to be his age.

That try did win us the game, it was the last one to be scored and it really was a great try. I would even go as far as calling it an individual try seems how bad Croker's kick through was.

In the end Robbo got owned by Boogs.

Thickos whats your view on macca leaving?

Marty... could have been something special but proved not to be the man for the job. Disappointed but if it means we get a top young kid in the halves that can take us further than macca did then I guess it is a good thing for all concerned.

Looking back on all Boogs' games he was often amongst the top tacklers - he was a solid defender and should have been played more in the second row, especially since Wikki was sidelined so much as were Davico & Croker. Boogas' size & ability to offload (also high on the stats) would have been better utilised in the second row.

wasn't it bulgarelli that scored two tries against Manly, one where he put in a kick and ran nearly the full length of the field? Not bad for a big fella IMO.

My Boogs Memory:

Prelim final 2003: Raiders V Warriors, at 16 all McLinden put in a little grubber behind the line for Bulgarelli, for anyone else collecting the ball and planting it on the deck to win the game was mear formality, but not for our jason, Bulgarelli fumbled it and we lost the game thanks to a late Stacy Jones feild goal.

He had played alright up to this point, but this event triggered a phase in his playing career what can only be described as cringeworth, he was then famous for his presure drop balls and stupiud mistakes
