Things to do Before You Die

I'm going to confess up front here to having my own alterior motive in posting this. The second novel I intend to work on (entitled Eight Things to do Before You Die) is based around a group of friends helping their dying mate achieve the list of things he wrote when he was healthy before he dies.

Whilst I've got my own ideas, I'd rather have a broader view of things people would like to do before they die. On top of that, I think it makes a good conversation topic. Obviously we've all got big ones and small ones, I know that my dream of being a best-selling author is at one end of the scale and my dream of doing body-shots is on the other.

So, what would be on your list of things to do? What about when you were younger?

wow..... very "walk to remember" ish chris....

a few things i want to do

go overseas, to fiji, whistler, london, switzerland, antarctica, new york, and as many cultures/places as possible

skydive from as high as possible, for as long as possible

go on wheel of fortune (ive wanted to do that since i was 10, plus people are stupid)

and my new life goal

sing in front of 26,000 people in the herald ultimate singstar challenge

I started reading A Prayer for Owen Meany but never finished it. Has anyone else read it?

1. I would got to America and spend a week at Disney Land
2. Travel to Egypt to see the Pyramids, Vally of the Kings, everything.
3. See a Football game at every staduim, including in NZ.
4. Try surfing.
5. Spend 3 days at Warner Bros Movie World.
6. See every Johnny Depp film.
7. Play netball again.

Well one of mine would have been done on tueday night but sh*t happens

Go to a U2 concert (Got the ticket just need them to come back now )
Travel around South Africa/Zim and some other African countries
Go to the Carribean on a Cricket tour
Go to Ireland Sky Dive
there's more but not that i can think of now

* Bungee Jump (done)
* Play a golf course that has hosted one of the 4 majors
* Follow Pearl Jam or Radiohead on an Australian Tour (Radiohead done)

If I can achieve that I'll do alright...

- Go and see the Amazon
- go to a 3rd world country to help out and make like a little kid smile
- Dance on a stage
- Go and stand in front of the white house and laugh
- all the theme parks in the world
- Uluru

Maybe more but i can't think of them.

I didn't mind A Walk to Remember, mostly due to my love of all things Mandy Moore (when she isn't singing).

Mine are varied
1. Blow up mardi gras
2. Change as many peoples perceptions about sexuality as possible
3. Grow the crusade into the biggest and best supporters group in Australia, in ANY code
4. Marry Dane Campbell or Riley Brown or Reegan Tanner, or at least a decent bloke whose no androtop.
5. Leave a good looking Corpse
6. Be comfortable enough to retire young.
7. See the world after doing that
8. Own a boat
9. Kill Laura Palmer

Ok so some of mine im taking the piss, and some others im not comfortable sharing, but yeah, go bushy. From what i read of the first draft of chapter 1, im gunna like this one too.

1. Move out of Sydney (tick)
2. Start pole-dancing lessons (which I'm going to attempt this year)
3. Act/dance/sing in some sort of on-stage production
4. Learn as much as I can - and actually graduate from more than one degree/diploma/certificate!
5. Work in as many different careers as I possibly can - and enjoy the experience instead of hating a job - definately aiming at working at some sort of media/children's entertainment combination, whether it be a kids book or some sort of television show - I'd love to be on Playschool
6. Travel the world while I'm still young enough to enjoy it - especially the U.S and Canada, and visiting my family in Scotland
7. Get the house on the beach that I've dreamed about my entire life
8. Procreation, if thats a physical possibility
