This game drives me nuts

On God mode - AUS v NZ 2nd test. 1 nil down in the series NZ are up.

26 - 24 Australia's way 30 sec to go. NZ kick off. Short Kick off, goes ten meters, Australia catch the ball and..

CALLED OFFSIDE, NZ KICK FOR TOUCH AND SCORE TO WIN THE GAME.

WTF is that, how can Australia be offside, how badly coded is this game to let something like that happen

Yeah i know, its happened to me no end of times and it is annoying. The other thing that really annoys me abotu this game is the passing, it is truely awful i think, i am scared to chuck a pass out sometiems because i feel it will go to ground, go stupidly forward like it does on the game or it will go into touch.

The other thing is the amount of knock ons and sin-bins, i had 3 knock ons inside the space of 50 seconds on the game !!!

I know especially the wingers not staying outside their man. You expect to pass to an unmarked man and he comes inside just as you pass it, when he should have just stayed out to run in and score.

maybe your team is like that in real life,

Notice the computer doesn't throw it into touch or throw it to the ground,

The game is poor, go and play madden for a few hours and come back and try and play this game

ohhh thats why my team was undefeated this year I SEE THE LIGHT!!!

ive seen the AI throw it in2 touch and 2 ground heaps of times and on god mode as well

after u go and play madden youll probly go and complain in a madden forum about how your passes arnt going where they are supposed 2 u know why??? NOT ALL PEOPLE WANT GAMES THAT ARE PISS EASY 2 WIN!!! if everything happened smoothly u would not get beaten!!!(wait u probly would) BUT NO1 ELSE WOULD

You are a moron,

NRL isn't difficult, it's a buggy piece of crap,

Madden is exceptionally bug free and the AI is excellent, and if you think it is easy on the hardest setting you are full of crap.

The point is the game is controlled more by the bugs then anything else

madden 2004 is like, the 14th game in the series and ea had a a much larger budget than hes AND LIKE HELL MADDEN HAS NO BUGS!! WHY WOULD THEY RELEASE A PATCH IF IT DIDNT????

i think you need 2 read the rules of rugbyleague, then u will realize wat a dumbarse u made of yourself

There are bugs, but hey dodgy refereeing and drop balls are all a part of rugby league. ;-)

the short kick rule is correct.

If the recieving team touches the ball inside the 10m they are offside. prety sure it happened to cooper in 2002.

Learn to time your passes better and time your tackles better and you wont throw forward passes or throw into touch, or get sent off for high takles.

The game is awesome. I'll admit there are a few problems but it is very fun to play.

Yeah that ruling is right, it happened at the end of the Parra/Dragons game in round 2 this year. The problem is you can't stop the AI players catching the ball.

This game drives me insane, yeah, but I just had a killer 10-10 draw in a 20 minute game against Wigan with Leeds on legend, it was a bloody brilliant game, no dodgy calls or tries, it was all class, I loved it. It's a shame games like this only happen once or twice in every 10 games I play, but when they do its all worthwhile.

Mate, I think you should settle down a bit. For starters, the so-called bug you describe at the start of this thread is the correct implementation of that rule. If the receiving team touches the ball inside the 10 from the kick-off, it is a penalty against them. So you lost fair and square.

If Madden is so good, then f*#&*# off to Madden and/or NFL forums somewhere and stop complaining to us about a sport you clearly know f*#&% all about!

Why does Rugby League get compared to Madden so much anyway? Aside from using a similar style ball, they don't have a whole lot in common. Gridiron is a far easier sport to replicate, since after every play the AI can be reset and things start again, there are less situations they can be drawn in to, unlike league, which is constantly flowing.

That's ignoring that EA and Tiburion have had a long time to get Madden refined, where Sidhe are having their first crack at league, and yeah, sure, its buggy, but I at least find it fun to play, if you can't see the fun in this game because of the picky little bugs you can't see past, then perhaps you shouldn't be playing the game at all, because from the start we knew it wasn't going to be perfect and I mean, come on, did anybody expect this game to not have some issues?

not really mate, every set of 6 you dont see a ball going to ground do you, its not a bad attempt for a rugby league game but its a long long way off being any where near decent.

Goleel everyone compares it to Madden because Madden is the best computer game on the market, and it is there by a long way. As a certain saying goes: if you compare yourself with the best, eventually you will get there, if you settle for the average, you will learn to accept mediocracy.

I am a fan of this game only because it is rugby league, its almost embarassing when a mate asks me what i think of it as im forced to say its actually pretty ordinary, but go and buy it anyway!
