This is What the Average Fan Can Do

If the club didn't sack McJetski after last year's terrible season what makes you think they'll do it this year? The way we finished last year was abysmal but he survived after the 'review' which stated they believed 'Mary had a future as a first grade coach.'

The way the team performed in the first 7-8 rounds this year meant an automatic 2 year extension and baring too many thrashings in the last 4 games - Mary will survive and proclaim 2017 a "success" (everyone predicted we'd finish bottom 2 but we we're in the top 8 for most of the year and due to injuries and ref decisions, we were unlucky to drop out of the 8).

The script has been written....

Coffs I rarely go to the St George club now mate . The place is one of the worst clubs for atmosphere , the food is average , they dont run much entertainment any more . They are catering for the Chinese community ( not that I have a problem with that ) . For me the club and the football club are in a time warp , so Coffs Im already doing that .....
ive seen better bowling clubs than our leagues

Hi all. I know there have been a barrage of new posts expressing fan anger and justified . But what can an average joe do ?

Send the football club an email stipulating that the red v membership will not be renewed until Doust is gone and coaching staff fired. Do not be rude. I did it and they offered me the world to stay. I replied "Price and Doust equals no me"

Also ring the club, all calls are registered with the reason for call etc. do not be rude. Be prompt, polite, be firm and follow through

We hold the dollars and in numbers are stronger than any board

We stopped the merge with easts and the possibility of joining super league etc fan power
Have also emailed on occasions re my disappointment with the direction the club is heading as well as pointing out the negatives Doust & the board have presided over, particularly the last six years. In debt to the nrl, rookie old boys coaches, declining membership, not listening to their fans, rgrv etc. I never get a response with the exception of the auto reply but will continue to annoy them.

the structure & procedural requirement to rid the club of the board is nigh on impossible to mount.

i'd suggest cancelling membership would be the ultimate panacea to prompt immediate action.

non-attendance to games might hardly have an impact given i believe the club is paid to have games at the stadium.

even though mass boycotting of memberships would have a devastating effect, i believe it would as such hastily promote action.

it is no chance because i'd imagine insufficient members would do this.

we're stuck with the f*ckers.

LOL the average fan won't do nothing. The average fan is part of the problem.

We spent all off season calling for McGregor's head then the team wins a few games and everyone quickly changes their tune.

This is exactly why the club treats fans with so little respect. They know a couple of wins will quickly shut us up.

The Oust Doust campaign is so sporadic that it would barely raise an eyebrow from the man himself.

Until people actually maintain some conviction, look at things long term and actually demand some success (rather than make pathetic excuses for the lack of it), nothing around here will change.

That's exactly my experience, however did get a "why?" when I cancelled my red V

If doust is around
Red V, not for me

to be fair to jowls, tries conceded from kicks have wrecked our season.

His insight to think of a defensive line that doesn't stretch 2 passes off the ruck was brilliant because it will limit the use of our interchange.

When the 2 passes off the ruck doesn't work in attack, just give it to McCrones and he can kick his way to victory.

All the other NRL coaches must be f**king rocket scientists to counter such a foolproof game plan.

yep.

douche knows he is virtually bullet-proof given what is actually required to flick him.

and as you said, the side wins a couple at the beginning....many fans suddenly get a premiership erection.

i would love to start a thread with all the fawning, schlong-frothing posts that were submitted during this winning run. hilarious stuff.

The most disappointing aspect is the recurring nature of this.
When the inevitable sacking of McGregor occurs, likely midway through the season, Doust will install one of the 'insiders' for the remainder of the season as 'this is the most suitable for us at this late stage'.
Following will be an exhaustive search(Doust will just twiddle his thumbs) for a suitable replacement and the 'insider' will be signed as coach for a further 2 years on account of 3 wins out of 8 games and because he 'bleeds for the club'.
How sad that we can see the inevitable.
