this must not continue.
go anyone but the Roosters and the Bulldogs.

Go the Storm or the Panthers or the Raiders or the Warriors.... I'm gonna be sick!!!!!!!! Y does every other team in this comp suck?

I really dont have a care who wins anyway, as long as it aint the Roosters.

Thats an interesting stat.
If only I knew this at the start of the year I would have put all my money on the Roosters and not done my dough on the Knights. Then again, I can never bring myself to tip against the Knights

I couldn't agree more.

I hope the panthers get up, for John and Marty Lang,Preston Campbell.
And ofcourse, just to stick it up super coaches Chris Anderson and Gus Gould

Wow, that is definitely a fascinating & an attention-grabbing statistic, Kaz. What motivated you to even discover such an intriguing trend? Let's hope history doesn't repeat again :p I actually do not mind if the Roosters win back-to-back titles. They still remain the benchmark & the team to beat in my books at this stage.

I was thinking about the Broncos beating the Dragons in 92,93 & then I remembered that Parra won in in 82,83. (I have to remember the wins, as we didn't win a game for 8 weeks)

Then I looked through my GF winners book & I couldn't believe it went back till 62.

And most of those stats are the same teams playing eachother in the 2 GF of each decade.

Can the roosters play the warriors again this yr in the grand final? That could add to the spookyness of it all.

It would be even weirder if the Rooters beat the Warriors. That seems to be a pattern aswell. Except 72 & 73.

That is absolutely true ... it just keeps getting more peculiar the more you look deeper into it. I hope there isn't any exact or similar scorelines, or otherwise that would make it even more freakier!

Saw that in the paper Sunday.

Every time since mandatory Grand Finals were introduced (1954)

It could also have happened in 1952-1953

Souths won in 1953

In 1952 they lost in the grand final in a highly controversial match, where the ref made some shocking decisions against Souths - betting scandals surrounded the match and the ref quit at the end of the match.

Was that the Sunday Mail what edition was that then, as I get it delivered & it wasn't in it.

I called 4BC on Friday Night & got onto the sports program & told them the stat & I won some CD's.

Don't know what CD's they are, knowing my luck in would be Wham & Buck's Fizz.

mmm

The Sunday Mail must have heard me, I am now famous.

I thought it was the Sun Herald, but just had a look through it and couldn't see it. I also checked the Sun Mail, and Sats Courier Mail but couldn't see it anywhere, also checked RLW, RLR and Big league, but still no, but I did see it somewhere - wish I knew where, then I could also get the refs name. The same little tit bit (it was only a small paragraph) mentioned the 1952 scenario.

But we lose 8 in a row, but still get 8 players in the train on squad.

If we won against Penrith, is may have been 13. :p

And then if we won the GF, it would have been the whole squad. :p :D

If Willie Mason gets selected in that same squad you can throw any credability of that comment out the window...
