"I didn't just jump back on the bike and win. There were a lot of ups and downs, good results and bad results, but this time I didn't let the lows get to me". - Lance Armstrong

"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." - Earl Weaver

Warriors is a crucial game but we will beat the Bulldogs, Canberra and Dragons. We may even break the curse against Brisbane and win at home.

The Raiders did lap us

Only poor handling stopped by my count at least 4 more tries being scored

admitingly Parra had the same handling problems but in the 2nd half the Raiders tore Parra to shreads.

and souths lapped canterbury, newcastle lapped melbourne, manly and the sharks have collapsed, the roosters are gorne.....so we're not robinson crusoe in having a dusty couple of weeks. really, aside from the broncos, tigers and dragons, who hasnt had a dusty fortnight?

we'll be right.

Hurri, I started a thread a week ago called " Top 8 Be very afraid" for suggesting the same thing and I got bagged too ! I was just pointing out that it was possible.

Unfortunately, as much as I love the Eels, they have a habit of breaking our hearts !!!!

A win against Shayne Hayne oops sorry the Warriors will assure us a spot!

Take the Broncos out. They struggled to put the Raiders away in a game they should have cantered home in and lost to the Bulldogs....

The whole point of this comp is that NO team can expect to win ANY match.

Has anyone been watching Canberra and Warriors in recent weeks. Over 4-5 weeks, including the very high quality match they played against each other, they have dead set been two of the very form sides.

Every game is crucial because no more than one or two sides are going to win 4/5 on the way home.

Having said that - why worry? Like Pete says, sit back and enjoy the ride. And be thankful we played so well early to give us the luxury of being where we are.

Trying to predict things spoils the enjoyment of them happening. That's why I hate footy tipping but watch every match of footy every weekend.

I dunno Colonel, I'd actually say that the Raiders have had a better fortnight than most other teams, even though they have picked uo zero points.

If somehow the Raiders make it, then watch out cause they have their semi-final defense already locked up.

Broncos still should have beaten them comfortably if they are the genuine title contenders they are supposed to be. I don't think it is as cut and dried as many would have us believe. The next two months will see some real twists and turns before the title is decided.

no doubt

i really dont think anyone has stood up to be counted as yet, despite many lauding the broncos and dragons to the ends of the earth

An injury to Lockyer or Hornby and both of them can say goodbye to their seasons.

Draghons still have to maintain their form for another 5 weeks whereas the Eels and a few other teams can re-focus their seasons. The bye may cause problems for the Dragons as well. Two weeks out from the finals - it could slow any momentum they are building.

I agree HJ. And I think the sleeping dragon, ie the side with the most potential to unlock, is the Cowboys. I would probably be saying that about the Warriors too if they were 6 or 7.

Parra have a big surprise up their sleeve and anyone who thinks Brian Smith has shown all is hands, think again, my friends our finals assault start this weekend and the boys will build up leading to the finals.
