back to the topic :)

Mr Merritt mightn't even get many kicks in this one.

we have a weakened side with most of the attacking thrust (oooo I like that word) on the sidelines. no Mr kimmorley, np Mr Peachey and No Mr Vagana

We mightn't get many french fries in this one and we don't generally take shots for goal at penalty.

so if we win narrowly in a low scoring display with Merritt getting a few goals will that make him the Messiah suddenly.

leave the kicking with Mr Noddy when he returns and send Mr Merritt back to Mr Gentles team :)

& of course Beeker was the scoop.
speaking of dropkicks, who did those? I think it was merrit.
BTW.
Raper did say categorically that Merrit was kicker on NRL on Fox. BK said on practicing with Merrit " he's on fire"

This leads to the assumption that Merrit won't be around longer if he doesn't start performing. Surely!

Must agree.. the plan for Merritt to kick was hardly a scoop. It was common knowledge but somewhere between that interview and the game, something changed and Hilder became the kicker.

Who cares, either way?
