This Years Nuffie

Tongue is really good, les! He did quite a few good things last year, what's more is that it was on the back of a struggling team. Reserve your judgement for a few rounds and see how he goes. If you aren't happy then, fair enough. Everyone has a right to their own opinion.

If Tongue palys 15 first grade games this year, i will be a GC supporter in '07, i cant stand him, he offers so little, he is jus ta 'worker' i dont want that.. and to compare him to Clyde, are you f**kin serious, he wouldnt be fit to say hello to Brad Clyde
Well in that case, say g'day to Presto for me. ;-)

Thank god Tyran Smith is gone.

I have to say we have weeded out a lot of nuffies over the past year.

Kahlar or Mogg, Hoewell has been alright at time and although has had a few shockers i still rate him higher then Mogg.

Kahlar is weaker then joey johns knee's.

Adrian Purtell - just a guess. And Azz is correct, i did go from being president of the anti-Tongue commitee to being quite the admirer, based on his 2005 form. Les amber, you are GOOSE of the month, I'm afraid; not only for your Tongue bashing, but because you left SUPER SUPER SUPER PHIL out of your round 1 predicted side.

Tongue is an awesome player! Can cover the backrow and hooker positions and goes hard with every hit up and is no slouch as a defender. He and Miller are major assets off the bench.

I've got a sneaking feeling that Ben Jones will get into first grade and keep his place. With young budding stars in Learoyd-Lars and whoever else playing in the backrow, the fans will grow impatient as they believe TLL is the next Clyde/Tallis/SBW rolled into one with the speed of Brett Dallas while we have to endure a solid but unspectacular Jones who people will question, "How can he be debuting at 26? There's a reason Matty Elliot!"

if your THAT fickle, then IMO the Titans can have you
and IMO you are too educated on the game of league if you are suggesting tongue offers us nothing. He has been one of our best performers over the past 18 months

69 agrees with him too. Couple of oddballs IMO. Although 69 does go on to completely contradict himself. I guess simple people such as myself don't get how someone is 'too educated in the game of league' (sic), yet is still wrong big time.

I actually don't think Purtell will stay in 1st grade long if he starts at all.... more of a hunch though than anything.

Mogg moving to the wing and then potentially roving in the backrow will make him an asset to the side more so than his average defence and dhalf runs from the right centre position.

As for the Nuffie of 2006... only real possibles of getting picked despite not adding much at all each week is Jason Williams and Ben Jones I guess... and I haven't seen enough of Jones to warrant putting him in that category....

so it is Williams.

I used to hate Tonguey (largely due to my predjudice against bloodnuts) but now I love him.
He's the sort of player 100% no nonsense player that appeals to the die-hard fans.
By all accounts he's a really nice bloke as well.
My predictions for nuffie of 2006:
Todd Carney
Terry Campese

In previous years he was little more than an 'honest worker' but last season he had real impact. I would be interested to know how many line breaks he made last season, i can remember two he made in the game against the Broncos at Bruce last year.

Not only that, but he generally makes his line breaks in the middle of the ruck area. His effective tackle rate is also outstanding.

he shouldnt start one game at all this year

we got Graham, Chalk, Ale,Mogg, Frawly and Shif on the fringes.......Howell should be demoted to PL

How the hell is Tongue a nuffie? What an idiot. And to call Toots a nuffie suggests we should call the funny farm and tell them we are sending you over..

Thats a pretty crappy signature you got going there.

Im picking Howell - I personally think Mogg still could be quite good, but Howell has never done anything and is wasting our time when we have talent like Chalk and Ale continually missing out on selection because of him.
