Thommo the Ex - terminator?

Whats happened to him?
Earlier this year his was carving them up! Now he seems tired and like he's about wind up his career!
Where has the fire in the belly gone?

Hi Saint Doc,
Two weeks back in Townsville he got tackled into touch by Bowman - I think this is the only time I've seen Thommo pushed out like that.
Last night against Parra he lost his cool when he gave one of the Parra players a wedgie and he was penalised.
Interestingly, Parra returned the favour but the ref let it go.

I've noticed that in recent weeks he has slowed.
There's always the speculation that he might be pissed off because Smith retained the captancy over Thommo despite Smith's inevitable departure.
But I don't think it's that sinister.
More likely he's carrying an injury. At this time of year, every 2nd player is carrying some sort of injury.

Willow, i really hope it is something as simple as that. You make a very valid point about injuries, and if he is carrying one, hopefully he'll be right soon.
But it worries me to see a player of his calibre just "making up the numbers" out there. Prior to the State of Origin, he was a name regularly being tossed around, and if NSW named a 25-man squad he would have been in it without a shadow of a doubt.
These days, Andrew Hart is showing him up.
If there was a modern-day player that embodies what St.George are about, it is him. Remember the famous quote "I would die for St.George".
Hopefully the captaincy issue isn't a problem. He is being groomed to captain his club - he will be captain for season 2002. And will be for a long time to come

Thommo is a club man, and a popular one at that.
I'm sure the captaincy has nothing to with it, I'll toss that idea in the fire.
As you say, he'll 'die for St George'... perhaps it's time we all started calling them St George again.

What went wrong was the gaame against Penrith!
He was out in the centres and he stepped and swerved and carved up
The thing is he's been loitering out in the centres ever since and thinks he's Gasnier with a huge jink and step but he is slow as all f**k!
He needs to piss off out of centres so Gasnier can get ball
Though i have heard he is carrying an injury
It used to be good with Thommo playing in middle of ruck and Barto and tracy playing wide
Though with Hooper playing lock he is playing centre field and Thommo is out in centres where he doesn't belong

Benny... welcome aboard mate. Word of mouth is a wonderful thing, eh?
I was only guessing when I said Thommo had an injury or two. 2nd rowers usually cop shoulder injuries late the season and that effects their defence up the middle. Pure speculation, mind you.
But as I said, it's commonplace at ths time of the season.
I agree. The best place is for Lance is the centre of the ruck but we need him on the field regardless.

I will. I'm going through a proxy server and it was giving me trouble... couldn't get into mIRC. But I have reloaded it so it should work now.
It would be a good place to spread the word about LWOS... that is assuming it's OK with macca.

When is it normally happening?

He has always been overrated for mine. If he played for a team with less passionate and obsessive fans he wouldn't get anywhere near the wraps he gets.

Thompson isn't the Dragons only problem in the forwards. Against the Eels, the entire backrow made no impact at all. Off the top of head, this was the strongest pack the side could field for the remainder of the season.

Thompson, Hart and Hooper will get eaten up by the Broncos, Eels, and even the Sharks.
