'I love the Raiders and they are my club but i feel I am being squeezed out of the place. I'm not sure what is going on - all i know is I can't get a start and its really getting me down. The club have me on the backburner... I'm coming off contract and it feels like they don't want me anymore. I want to play on and retire on my own terms. I don't want to be forced out. I AM ON GOOD MONEY HERE and I hope the club isn't LEAVING ME DOWN TO DE-VALUE ME or force me to quit.'

Diddums. You aren't first grade standard Troy and you have somehow managed to play a lot of first grade on decent wages  Obviously Dave Furner has realised you are milking it and there are better forward prospects coming thru who deserve your contract. Good clubman but time to retire mate and don't blame the club for your hands like feet!

they need to find some money to fight off the eight clubs chasing Dugan at then end of next season, Troy Thompson would be a sensible place to start absolute nuffy.

Troy Thompson has put in some very good seasons at the Raiders. The player we've seen this season isn't reflective of his whole time here. Unfortunately we have some new, younger players coming through. And while many of them make exactly the same mistakes as Troy does, potential is something that will see them get a start over Troy. There is a part of me that would love Thompson to stay as a bit player, much like Brett Kelly. Having said that, I'd also want to see Joyce etc have a chance to be those players. No reason to be disrespectful to the big guy though, he has at times been very good for us.

Bye Troy. Come back when you learn to catch or bend the line.

thompson has never been more than an average player even in his best years. Wouldn't even sign him at minimum wage. Much better off without him.

Troys a good guy but its just not good for this club from what he says from that it sounds like hes taking more of the cap than he should be, for the good of the club he has to go never been a consistant forward not needed. Good souths logans forward imo

I'm sure an ESL club would love to offer him a retirement deal.

If we for a second put aside how good a player we think Troy Thompson is. I think the more important thing we can take from this is the fact that a player who has been loyal to this club for years has come out publicly against the management.
something pretty bad must be happening at this club for one of its players to openly have a go at the coach. whats that all about?

No, he's having a go because he can't get a run and is worried about his next contract.

He shouldn't be on the field and he should be worried about his next deal.

This isn't football camp, it's not important everybody feels included.

I completely agree with you, its not football camp and the best team should be put on the park. Even though the raiders don't seem to do that more often then not lol.

But what l was saying is that its not normal for a player to have a go at the coach during the season, especially if that player wants another contract. Surely there must be something going on behind the scenes that has caused this.

He's trying to present it as some sort of agenda to squeeze him out.

There's no agenda - he's just sub-par.

he is a good clubman and good to have a round the club needs loyal players like this. so we can show our juniors coming through that we do look after them.
sure there are young fowards putting their hands up. maybe a nice base contract with some good insentives is all that he needs.

It's money that could be used on Dugan or Dobson, so no.
