Thorman called into sqaud for game v Sharks

Said on triple M that the news is that Cayless WILL play tonight verse the sharks.

Good on Cayless for backing up. That's a big effort considering his injury. It's gonna be interesting to see how Thorman goes in first grade. I'll just be happy with a win tonight I think, given the injuries, and last minute changes that'll probably occur it's gonna take a big effort to do so. Good thing we're not playing a top of the table side.

Widders was on radio yesterday and said he wants to play close to 80 today so I am assuming he will be starting.

Thorman is in the squad, he is not in the team just yet.

Will need to wait till 4:30 before the team is confirmed but even if Lex, Caylo and Hindy all play I can still see Thorman coming into the 17 for O'Dwyer. With either Webster dropping down to be 18th man like he did last week v Manly

or with Wagon moving to lock, Thorman to 5/8 and Widders staying on the bench with Armit, Tsoulos and Webster.

I can't see Smith going with two small halves in the side. I think it will come down to a decision between Webster & Thorman. If Thorman shines tonight I think he will hold that spot for the rest of the year in a role similar to what PJ Marsh had in 2001.

Thorman has been playing half back all year, he aint gonna come into this first first grade game at 5/8.

Wags will stay at 5/8 and more likely Thorman will be the bench utility.

Well O'Dwyer was playing centres in reggies so why did he come into the top grade as a lock???

He started as a bench utility and BS thought he would make a good replacement at lock when Hopkins got injured

The point I was making is that just because Thorman is playing at half for reggies doesn't mean he will not play 5/8 in 1st grade.

Just as Smith thought Odie (or is that Garfield) will make a good replacement for Hopkins he may also think that moving Wags back to lock and Thorman into 5/8 is the best replacement for O'Dwyer.
