Thurling DUI

Just reported on Fox Sports that Thurling has been stood down indefinitely following an incident in Sydney last night. Believed to have been involved in a car accident whilt driving under the influence. What a goose!!!!

Raider Trevor Thurling stood down following motor accident

April 10, 2009 Canberra forward Trevor Thurling has been stood down by the NRL club after being arrested by police following a motor accident in Sydney on Thursday night.
The club said that Thurling, 24, was allegedly found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and will appear in court next month.

Raiders chief executive Don Furner said Thurling had been stood down from all playing and club commitments until further notice.

“The Raiders are very disappointed with Trevor's actions in this matter and have taken appropriate measures by standing him down from all playing and club commitments until the matter is dealt with by the appropriate authorities,” Furner said.

“Trevor has broken the Raiders' code of conduct by drinking while injured and more seriously put himself and others in danger by his actions.”

I can not believe players are still carrying on with rubbish like this.

I'm not a big fan of that word, but it's hard not to have a chuckle.

Dumb dumb dumb. Especially now the guy has a kid of his own.

Not to mention the fact he's recovering from a major injury Steve Irwin style. However unless there's a bunch of stuff we don't know about he'll probably get off with a big fine and in club suspension (during his period of rehab).
