Who will have the guts to kill it?

It deserves to breathe just one night a year - the night before Good Friday.

Otherwise it should just be exterminated by whatever means possible.

yep, but sadly the NRL let Ch9 put it in the current deal & they won't budge ( like Broncos Night Footy & the Sunday game being on delay )

Gyngell needs to come up against more than a fat arsed billionaire . . . in a back alley away from cameras

meh, yeh it sucks for crowds, but its bloody great to have footy to watch on Thursdays and Mondays.

I wouldn't mind if they got rid of Thursdays, but would be pissed if they ditched MNF

Monday and Thursday are useless games for everything other than filling a dead slot in a TV schedule.

Thursday night footy is bloody great - feels like the weekend has started a day early.

Apart from last week's shit fest, but that's Wobblie's fault.

I blame Newcastle.

Ever since they packed out Hunter that Rd1 night against St Merge, Ch9 has thought it is a good idea.

Having a game on Thursday beats having two games on long drawn out commercial riddled Friday.

Not if two weeks in a row it's your home game (Bulldogs)...
Good for TV, shocking to go too. The game doesn't bloody finish until 10pm.

Hate it.

Should be 1 game Friday night. One Sat arvo or twilight, one sat night & 5 on Sunday arvo.

Bring in the Perth franchise for the next TV deal and alternate them and NZ every week home and away so that you have either a 12pm game live, into the 2pm on Fox & 4pm on Nein or whoever gets the rights next time. Other one or two at 3PM, viewers choice on Fox. When Perth play at home, make it a 3.30pm local kick off.

Why can't we just have two games kick off at 740 sat night

One on fox. One on nine

CH 9 saturday night figures are shit

It would help them. They could put a good reality show on Thursday night up the loss

9 don't care about crowds - it's all about ratings. If a match was a sell-out but only got 100k watching on TV, 9 would want to have it moved

Thursday and Monday nites are great little money spinners for the code.
The problem again is scheduling.
Thursday nites need to be at the beginning of the year, when we are all salivating and craving league.

Monday nights need to be banned from the Origin series weeks, and used more towards the end of the year when the NRL knows who will attract a crowd and who wont.
The fix schedule allows for 20 weeks to be fixed, then they decide the last 6 weeks towards the end of the fixed schedule.
They really need to get this right and we have a ball game.

Monday and Thrusdays are a goldmine for the code, you take that away and other codes will pounce.

That is the trouble, we are locked in again to a terrible deal, which we had no choice but to sign to get rid of nine off our back.
Give it time, bring in the bunker, the shotclock, the student rent a crowd, because lets be honest, the clubs still dont sell their games , they sit idle like stale bottles of piss and watch the world pass em by.
We need leadership, and the Eels are leading the change.
