Exactly my thoughts JM.

Reynoldson proved to me that he should be starting with Simmo and Newton when fit.

Reynoldson has shown nothing that exceeds or consistently replicates the efforts of Abes from a couple years ago. Granted I wouldn't be saying Abes is ready for FG yet, but Reynoldson had a few mildly above average games.

Two totally different players. Abes is a line breaking fringe, running backrower while Reynoldson is an up the guts type second rower. Both are fairly solid in defense but Reynoldson gets through more work.

How you can compare their performances i don't know.

Yeh, big chunk out of their forward pack. They also have a couple of forwards backing up. We have a fresh pack.

Davico looks like a rather unnecessary purchase with the calvary due back next week. But with his rate of improvement I am not complaining.

That's crazy talk! No more Smith next year, remember, unless he changes his mind.

If all our players were match-fit and firing, my forwards would be:
8. Smith
9. Buderus
10. Davico
11. Simpson
12. Newton
13. Abraham

14. Perry
15. Woolnough
16. Reynoldson
17. Tolar/Lowrie

I like Davico starting, plus he doesn't have the vital errors and lack of discipline in him like Perry.

And as for tonights game - quite frankly I hope Quinn does get a small injury, coz I want to see Tighe in first grade!

i went to burwood westfields and i saw benny galea there. i asked him about the match and if halatau, gibbs or himself would be playing. he said that he wasnt fit (his hamsting is still playing up on him) but halatau and gibbs are fit and cleared to play.

I know it's a random tigers fan but he seems to have the respect of the posters there so i'd say it's true.

Galloway will move up now i'd imagine.

Quinn is still error prone, and he is liable to do stupid things like the late smashing of Webster a few weeks ago. He has been outperforming Carney, true, but best performing back? Hardly! Thaiday, Matt Gidley and Carmont have all had it over him!

Tighe isn't reall a winger either, I'd still like to see him play a single game this season though haha.

I think Quinn has certainly performed better than Carmont, and i think that he may be playing better than Thaiday. But that is hard to judge because Thaiday will be out for another four to five weeks. He has been making plenty of metres from inside our own twenty metres and has been really rock solid in defence. Much better defender when comparing Carney and Quinn.

There's no hiding you're an Abes tragic Antonius but i'd be very suprised to see him in our starting line up at all this year.
Yep I'm a huge fan of Abes. He's a way off even looking like getting back ATM but he will, last year when he came back from the broken ankle (too soon I'll add) he was very ordinary in the first few games, The Warriors game where he broke it again was Abes of old, running angles, scored one off Johns, gifted Carmont one that he could've scored himself, was on his way over again when breaking the leg, and really was carving the Warriors up on the fringes, Reynoldson has shown nothing like that. At best Reyno IMO is a bench player rotating from backrow to prop, he is a ball carter, Abes is a ball player, in fact Abes is the ideal lock. Good defensively, great ball runner, and has vision, he showed touches of that vision last week. We'll see how he goes, but Reyno isn't in the same class as Abes at his top.

Agreed Tony - when he's at full fitness he's close to being an Origin selection. He's had 2 pretty serious injuries over the last few years and needs time to find match fitness, but when he does...he'll be an automatic selection in the first 13.

Abes is the only "true" lock we have at the moment (though Brown could fill the spot) Over the past few years most locks have been the type that can run good lines, throw an offload or a short ball when required and can play really well in defense.

Abraham is by far the first choice lock at the club when in good health.

Lolesi is in considerable doubt too apparently.

Tigers have 3 players in doubt (Gibbs, Halatau and Lolesi) with Galea definetly out. Some doubt about all 4 of their City/Country players backing up too.

We are as per program i believe.
