Lets face it guys we are on the slippery slide. I fear the gradual decline we have been on since the Grand Final is now a steep one. Have a look at these startling stats.
* 4 wins from our last 13 games
* In 10 of these past 13 games we have conceeded at least 20 points
* In 7 of these last 13 games we have conceeded at least 30 points
* In 6 of these last 13 games we have been beaten by 13+
* Have given up halftime leads in 3 games
* 2 wins from our last 7 home games
* Flogged by the likes of Souths and Penrith at traditional home bases.
* Beaten by a desperately poor Newcastle that had not won for 3 months
Injuries simply cannot be used as an excuse. We have had Hodgson and Farah available for 11 of these games, Marshall for 5 of these games and a similar bunch of generally underperforming players around them for the base of these games. Excluding Heigto and Payten who are generally always doing their best.
Lets face it something stinks badly. Look at those stats from the last 13 games and tell me that the team is playing to their ability? We were in the Top 4 with a string of home games against weak sides in 2007 and we limped home with 2 from 8. In 2008 he had a extremely soft opening against rubbish like canberra, saints, the dogs and penrith and we go 2 from 5.
The coaching staff have obviously lost the ability to motivate the players? We look like a ruderless ship whenever teams get a roll on. The same problems are occuring. Sheens has had 6 years to buy some timber up front but we continue to be under sized and back pedal when ever teams get a run of possession.
We are going backwards at a rate of knots. Farah and Marshall back will ease the pain a little, however we still won;t be winning when we are conceeding 30 points in more games then not.
